  • Just off I-75, half way between Cincinnati, Ohio and Lexington, KY, is an attraction called "The Ark Encounter." Last year, it attracted over 1 million visitors.
It is huge - a full-size Noah’s Ark, built according to the dimensions given in the Bible. Spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high, it is in it’s own right a modern engineering marvel that amazes visitors young and old.
It is, in fact, the largest timber frame structure in the world, built from standing dead timber, in part by skilled Amish craftsmen. Inside are three decks of crammed with exhibits aimed at helping visitors experience what life may have been like for Noah and his family.
The exhibit is decidedly evangelical Christian in tone. But even if you are not a believer, we think you’ll find it very interesting.

Ohhh.. And they have a great restaurant on the grounds (Anna's) that is very reasonably priced. They have senior pricing for attendance and honor veterans with an additional discount. My husband is a veteran and got both discounts. They give the discounts in the restaurant too. It was an all you can eat buffet style meal.

I just visited there last week, and I found it very impressive!! Would like to return for another visit in the future. I talked with 2 separate families that drove up from Mexico to see it as well, so I think it will becone more popular as word gets out.

I forgot to mention in the video but they are also building a hotel and, I believe, a convention center on the grounds. The attraction has proven extremely popular as a full fledged destination, not just a roadtrip side visit.

Why did Noah take those two mosquitoes on the ark?

Do they explain how Noah was able to collect animals from all over the world for the ark...and then put them back to their original spots after the flood was over?

Jenny & Craig Adventures ...perhaps a hobby is what you need. Why mess with crummy comments about something you don’t believe in, when you could be off doing something positive?

Eagle-One Why did God need to drown every living thing? If his hand is so big, surely there was a better solution than drowning babies in their drowning mothers' wombs. I can think of many and I'm just some dude.

Jenny & Craig Adventures Thanks for asking questions instead of being a mindless borg. But, of course, "God did it!" is the standard answer. Cuz that's what God is, an excuse to remain ignorant.

Excellent! I had heard of this but not been in the area to see it. How did you guys like it? Seems amazing. I'd visited the full size replica of the Parthenon near Vanderbilt U. in TN and was very impressed, so I can imagine this full scale replica and display of the Ark was even more impressive. - It's so nice that people actually take the time to do these incredible things for everyone to see!

To the people thinking of going to this nonsense. Go to the library instead. Read a science book. You'll feel better about learning more about reality instead of a fantasy.
