A Great Remix to such a Fantastic Dance Floor Classic..those who weren't around back in the day when this came on the scene in clubs missed witnessing what a sensation this and Give Me The Night were when the needle Hit The Record. WOW!

Yes! From the very first second it feels like a jolt of pure energy hitting you. Not quite as world changing as I Feel Love, but equally timeless.

The trio, the legendary Shabba Doo, Boogaloo, and Pop N Taco from the 80s that I had the pleasure of meeting in my youth. The irreplaceable forever ❤❤❤

Oh thank you! Glad to hear from you again! As I wrote below: I was a bit apprehensive to put this up, as I think that the original is just perfection. But I´m quite happy with this version and if others enjoy it was well: My job is done!

@@stellaVista i was a B Boy back in Portugal and I simply got addicted to the first two tracks by Shannon, I was into breakbeat, breakdance, electrofunk, electro & electronics, so this was a remembering of those times too. And the remix works perfectly well. Viva! Avanti, Marinaio! 😎

@@catalogueofwonders Yes, while I never went out with my boombox and a piece of cardboard, I was also completely obsessed with electro! Of course I listened to Depeche, Yazoo, Kraftwerk, Soft Cell, etc. but one evening in 83 I managed to catch the film Wild Style by chance on TV. (For whatever resaeon it was co-produced by German TV and premiered on that night when I happened to see it). The next day I raced to the record store and bought Streetsounds Electro 1 and never turned back. I absolutely love Latin Freestyle too.
If you love the two Shannon singles, also check out Xena´s On The Upside and C-Banks Get Wet! So futuristic stil!

You´re welcome and thank you for the compliment! I was a bit apprehensive to post this mix, as I think that the original is pretty much perfect as it is.

Woah.... Before the Latin Freestyle music became prevalent, this was when I became a Goth-Kyd. Sorry to everyone else who like this music; but, having growing up in California where this music began, it just wasn't my thing. Music is a personal choice and I've relaxed somewhat after getting older, but after listening to the first 20 seconds of this video a torrent of negative emotions started.
Nevermind me, it's associated with some childhood trauma's .....!!!!

Sorry to hear that! But I know what you mean. Some music provokes strong negative reactions in me as well. My kryptonite is Polka (and any mutation of it, be it German funkless techno, Trap and Reggaeton).
I LOVED Electro/electrofunk in its early form and Let The Music Play was such an enormous rush of pure electric energy! The opening, that´s causing you trauma, still makes me giddy with excitement and the mix of sharp sounds, booming bass and the broken ryhthm that´s coming at you from all sides has always been the embodiment of exciting, metropolitan nightlife for me.
While I grew up in a somewhat metropolitan environment, there was not much excitement and fun to be had and so the vision of body-popping kids blasting this music from their boomboxes in NYC was where I wanted to be.
My affiliation with goth happened around the same time and I mostly shunned dance music for some years (New Order and Cabaret Voltaire being one of the few who would manage to drip the sound of the streets through the gothic veil). But when I turned on the TV one day and heard Jack Your Body for the first time, I was back on board.
Freestyle is still one of my favourite genres in electronic music. No other music was SO forward, sleek, advanced ("inventing" digital editing by means of cutting & splicing tape with razorblades!) and hedonistic. It was so too POP for pop listeners and basically went underground!
