@jellybeanboy kids don't inherently understand what no means. They are growing and learning, you have to teach them the correct way. Just yelling is not going to teach them anything, especially considering how young that child seemed.

Fr I was at a zoo and the lady who was feeding the animals (Great woman, by the way.) told the kids to not throw food on the animals. They threw it directly on them and their mother was only trying to get them to pose for photos. Maybe those kicks up the ass actually did help me. 😭

most kids can understand things if explained clearly why their important once iv only ever had to explain things multiple times that are simple with adults in my experience children are curious and want to learn something they don't know adults will have ego that they don't already know something normally.

Yes yes yes a million times yes. This is how this should go every time. Kid knows to ask bc parent has taught them to. Owner explains the situation. Mom watches to make sure kid does not cross owner or dogs boundaries. And when kid does make a mistake the parent corrects it firmly but not aggressively and more explinations are given so the child learns. All of this. Yes.

Mama did a good job letting the kid know what's the right thing to do, but I think the kid wanted a way to show appreciation to the dog, and not just ignore. Might be a good thing for kids to be told to tell their person that the dog is really good and to get lots and lots of treats from "kids name".
Idk, just feels like kids love to express a kindness (throw stick for later), but obvs can't because it's not the right time.

My dad has a service dog for PTSD and so many people come up and try to pet her but she has a vest that said Do not pet and it’s in big bold red letters on a black vest and I kinda laugh because it’s easy to see. I scroll through you videos and like how most people ask about what like cider is being trained for and I find it amazing on what they can do. I also hate when people still try to interact with the service dog even when you tell them that they can’t pet the dog or if they’re training like they don’t need that distraction.
