Maschine Sampling & Chopping Tutorial: • Maschine MK3 Sampled B...
In this video I show you my approach of chopping and flipping an extremely dope 70's soul sample for Tracklib's beat battle, which you can join until Jan 6, 2021. But if you missed the battle, the video is still cool to see my approach of chopping soul samples and adding additional instrumentation to augment the beat.

Well done. Really good tune. What's your computer specs? Im thinking about getting maschine mikro but im worried if my laptop can handle maschine software.
Thank you! It's an old iMac i5 from 2012, runs fine. It all depends on if you use any very CPU heavy plugins. You can do a lot with i5 CPU + 8 GB RAM, SSD is a must.
@@LowHeatBeatsLenovo i5 8gb ram is what I have. Going to swap hdd for ssd and add ram to 16. Should be ok after that . Do you know if there is a way to use mpc expansions on maschine?
Nope, actually most people are trying to do the opposite - use NI stuff in MPC.
@@LowHeatBeats I know. I'm using some ni expansions on my Force but was wondering if i can do it other way around as i have plenty mpc stuff. Thanks for the answer anyway ;)
hello low heats , I have learned a lot of things with your videos so in first thanks a lot ; I 'm learning the sample based beatmaking with maschine mk3 and I have a question because you don't make the same thing on this video than the video with the harp sample of youtube ; why in this case you use the timestreching for the sample before slicing ???? I never used this function so perhaps I'm wrong ????(I'm French so excuse me for my bad English); have a nice day;
If the tempo of the sample is different from your project tempo it’s a good practice to timestretch it to be the same tempo. I don’t always do it and it leads to interesting results/grooves but you should definitely try it.

Is there a way to change the polyphony and pitch of every chop in the entire group at once like you used to be able to in past maschine’s?
Yeah, you can do that, but it's done differently than it used to be in version 1 of the software.
Do you think NI will release an updated version of the MK3? I'm on the fence about the MK3, because with Akai releasing their new Flagship, plus a MK2 version of their MPC One, I wonder if the MK4 is in the pipeline?
I don't know, only people who work at NI know for sure, so anyone else talking about this is just speculating. My guess is probably not this year, but again, it's just a guess. Also, there's no MPC One MK2, the Retro edition is just a different color.

I can't give a definitive recommendation, I've explained why I prefer it over the MPC in a video here on the channel.

hello Low heat , I have another question; is there a way with Maschine mk3 to slice a sample and to be able to pitch each slice as we want ; I found the way on my mpc live but not on maschine; thanks for your work;
Sure, yeah, just hard to explain in a comment, but there's an option to slice to individual independent samples.
