She is basically there so they don't have to tour with backup singers, and an orchestra. One example is November Rain. Back in the 90s they had a string section, and backup singers. Now they have Melissa, and her computer/keyboard.

@@julienj9678 Okay, but notice there are no string sections, or anything like that when they came back in 2016. Yet that was a big part of GNR. The sound of those strings on songs like November Rain have to be coming from somewhere. Most likely the Synth/computer/keyboard.

Plus her being the youngest person in the band by at least a decade has to be a plus in terms of bringing fresh things into a band that has existed in one form or another since before she was born

Idiots in the comments who haven't bothered to research exactly what it is she does in the band (and everything she's does out of it), yet want to complain about her. Since the 90's, Guns have had two keyboardists, so what's the problem exactly😄? She isn't just on keyboards and backup vocals. She could also very, very comfortably take over lead vocals from Axl - which would be hilarious, because sooo many narcissistic pieces of shit that call themselves Guns fans would armchair-riot on social media😏.
Melissa is presently the youth of GNR. Even Axl knows he's gotta at least have someone under 40 in the band lol.

If you listen a song without Her I’m sure that it’s someone else doing what she put on the live shows..Paradise City keyboards/ November Rain strings and backing vocals/ Chinese Democracy 3rd guitar/ Coma effects/ Madagascar backing vocals/ Some Illusions tracks that had 3 guitars she do the 3rd one/All syncs,etc…There’s a lot things.

She replaced Chris Pittman, so her primary role comes on the Chinese Democracy songs since they are more layered / intricate

Nome Comune dizzy didn’t change the music, they decided they wanted keyboards and piano so they hired dizzy to play them.
AGS 15 dizzy has conditioned axl on the musical style to be taken and certainly has conditioned axl on who to hunt from the band years ago, now has stopped being the protagonist because the pioneers have returned, you know of the people so silent there is to worry

Gnr is amazing.The only album without keyboard was afdestruction .These guys know how to make great music,and you dont.
