I played medic more than any other class in that game and to almost endgame if I remember right, and I wouldn't say playing medic was gimping yourself. Even with an assault on the point he would not hold for long without a medic and with the amount of self-healing I had I was often 1st on the point and last off it in most games I played. From what I remember of recon it was either sniping people on point or going stealth and hunting snipers so there was plenty for each class to do without feeling like you were underpowered or pointless.
honestly gotta say I'm genuinely surprised with the quality of this video. Hi-rez has made a lot of slip ups in the past, and based on punk duck's experience, is still making unreal mistakes. I'm really interested in seeing how you review the next few games, I'm pretty tired of the big rants of bad this bad that and kinda wanna see someone clinically dissect some rotten eggs.
Warframe definitely feels like a spiritual successor to Global Agenda for me, but with a different scifi aesthetic. There's obviously a bit more of a focus on PvE, but Warframe did used to have pvp modes like dark sector, where Clans could fight for control over territory.
I acually remember this game very well. I was the player named "yiffywolf" and thought, the game had a problem with hackers in AvA. I was so young and had no idea. Not everyone who was playing well was a hacker. The real problem was the company Hi-Rez. They didnt rly care about this game. It had so much potential and i still miss it today. I acually meet one of my boyfriends in this game... To bad none of this passed untill today
Hell yeah, I'm so glad to be on Global Agendorks - that notification went out and running Dome Defense for the first time in almost 10 years was so much fun!
@@OldViktor Hell yeah man. I'm glad you did. I'm Annulus in-game, trying to get a couple of friends that used to play to come back for the sake of old times
man, as someone who lead the agency vortex back then, this really brings back the nostalgia... funny enough I played both recon and medic and never felt gimped lol, but this could be 10 years of nostalgia.
I stumbled across this video by chance and thought 'wow, blast from the past' I played this game for maybe a year or so back in alpha... like '08. I can tell you that it doesn't seem like the game developed much at all between the time when I stopped playing and when it launched. It was pretty clear this thing would flop hard -- progress was glacial, content was minimal, gameplay was repetitive, and overall it seemed like they just had absolutely no idea how to balance this game. Not much really changed. "Millionaire's pet project" is a pretty apt description for the whole studio. "Global Agenda should not have been released in the state it was in -- period" To be honest, with their trajectory... the game would have been utterly irrelevant by the time it got enough dev-time to be ready-to-go
There are two massive problems with hi-rez First is that every single of their game is live service, so when they drop support it means they deny you access to it Second is that their games are competently made, so when they deny you access it will kind of feel bad. Anyhow, NEVER spend money on an hi-rez game.
Well, do I have some good news for you... yesterday there was a ping that went out across the "Global Agendorks" Discord, excitedly claiming that SteamDB showed an update to Global Agenda and that update was a server address... It's back up, we had almost 100 people on yesterday and were running raids and merc, it's even looking like we might get in some AvA if the servers permit it! Also, wow... Firefall... I loved several iterations of that game throughout its beta and even the release version was pretty good, it's just too bad that Red5 was even worse for their IP than Hi-Rez is for theris...
huh you have a post by Rubi Bayer at 04:17. she is currently at Arenanet working on Guild Wars 2 and actively hostile towards players that are any amount of good at the game resulting in a development direction that prioritizes story, art and other fluff like that so endgame has been dead in that game for a few years and the balance gets touched every 9ish months with a terrible patch that doesn't get fixed for an another 9 months when they break the balance in a different way. Not saying that it's just Her fault but she was/is the community manager for nearly a decade and i'm sure a person like that managing the communication between the playerbase and devs will result in some odd priorities. The point of this rant is that gw2 has no community because casuals don't watch/stream on twitch, post on reddit, make videos or talk about the game (nearly as much) as highly invested players and GW2 caters to only casuals so the game seems dead. sorry for the rant on a mostly irrelevant topic
I'm here with my 56k modem lost and wondering why you hate the rapper Hi-Rez Think I got it wrong just a little bit totally. But man.. I'm here so I'll give you a like and subscribe and watching this video. Cheers ;)
I remember playing this back in the day, never found the balance to be an issue myself, not with Recon melee damage especially, but the lack of headshots in a shooter was always weird to me, and might have helped the perception of Recon being weak, since they had the snipers.
It's always nice to hear Global Agenda mentioned on youtube.
nice , now i cant wait 4 Why I Hate Hi-Rez - SMITE
Next time on Dragon Ball Z, will Hi-Rez make the same mistakes in future games? Find out next week.
I always forget how amazingly well done your videos are, really looking forward to the rest of this series

bro the EDITING THOUGH
GlobalAgenda is back online :)
I too remember Medic Agenda where your games were 7 Medics, 2 tanks and a Recon
Or when you got queued into a game where all medics were dps builds.
I stumbled across this video by chance and thought 'wow, blast from the past'

If I could pick any game to be resurrected it would probably be this one. I LOVED this game, and don't care about the flaws tbh.

Nah this game was lit for its time.
Only reason you are below 1k subs because you make videos about LowRez. You are a really good researcher and youtuber i hope you'll be big soon
this game needs to come out again, was the best game ever and it died and firefall died :(

GA BEST GAME AND OFC REKSH N1 medic 😏
it sounds like you didnt play the game at all man, but good vid nonetheless
Can't wait to see I hate hiriz smite or even rogue company there newest game.
I mean I think everyone knows hi-rez kinda dogshit but smite hit that one market where there isnt any other 3rd person mobas.

Try rogue company👀
