I have 1952 mgtd recently done ..
The door was closed so perfect . but after I fix the door upohstery door cover door cup change alot.. Done side corner touch and result in door twist

Door twist can be a real pain. I find using the turnbuckles as a brace works very well

That rod below the throttle link can be turned around 180 degrees and then you should have enough space
