Just one fisherman to another. I have found after 2 years of being convinced I would never figure out the Ned rig that a sweeping to the side hook set and just leaning into the rod rather than a snappy hook set is better chance for hookups. Not criticizing because I still snap a hook set every once in a while but just something to keep in mind.
Yeah man for a normal ned I usually just reel into them. These ones have little metal weed guards so I set a bit harder to push through those, I noticed just reeling in with these specific heads doesn’t get a good enough hook in em.
Maybe, but I think it was more an issue with the little wire weedguards. There isn’t much skirt on those things to get in the way of the hook. But if I ever use one of these again I might try that
Thanks man! I would not suggest trimming the weed guard, they get bent out of the way pretty easily. Overall I think my issue was that I wasn't using the correct setup (would have normally thrown it on a 6'6" medium moderate spinning rod with 30 pound braid to a 10 pound leader) which I think would have helped me a bit. Let me know how you do with them!

Wonder if trimming the skirt a bit would help expose that hook and help with hookup ratios.

Wow
Thanks dude! It's a cool little bait
What was the weight of the jig???
Nice video! Just picked up some Zman micro finesse jigs and should I cut the weed guard to get a better hook up ratio?
