      @@ubuntuiqinisoofuna7852 He was not. I've heard that misconception many times. He was Genovese, had an Italian name, was Christian. The rumor has been created to disparage him. @@spideraxis Why don’t you send the proof that you’re not a fellow narcissist? Let’s propose the idea that what you say is the truth: knowing the history of it all, why would you be proud of such nonsense and put such a figure on a pedestal - some 500 years later?

    • @spideraxis

      @@ubuntuiqinisoofuna7852 You initiated the argument, therefore you supply the proof. Otherwise you are the typical ignorant and cowardly debater who evades responsibility with name calling, ad hominem comments, changing the topic or reverse obligation. The indigenous committed genocide against each other. Columbus came when the Industrial revolution (IR) was its nascent stages. It was coming, colonization was inevitable. Had Columbus not come, someone else would have. The IR and printing press gave Europeans advantages that Indians could not compete with. They were here, yes, but had no nations, constitutions or business structure. They weren't stupid, certainly could survive in the wilderness. Primarily it was disease, not Columbus, that decimated them. They are entitled to recognition. Just not at the expense of Italian-Americans.

    Such a fake parade! USA or UK always despising anything related to Spain and Spanish history. Hope you keep on celebrating this day in the same way you do now, not just knowing that Spain was the one discovering the new world, even knowing that Columbus, or much better said 'Cristobal Colón', was Spanish from Valencia and jewish. Please read latest discovery about his origen on internet.

    Natalie you are wrong saying Columbus was born in Italy. There is no record in Italy that he was born in Italy or he spoke Italian. He was born in Cuba, Portugal, and a monument is there in his honor. Furthermore, He spoke Portuguese, Spanish and Hebrew This is the same with Saint Anthony of Padua. He was born in Lisbon, Portugal. Let our Italian cousins be happy, they deserve it.

      Not really, Was he the first European there maybe yes. Leif Erikson a christian missionary didnt really know were he landed hence why he didnt put in any effort to confert natives because of ther lack of disinterests. Columbus on the other hand gets all the credit because because of him the americas connected with the rest of the world. Columbus motives were Religion and Money. Leif erikson we have no idea even when your read about it there discovery was meaningless but columbus discovery was meaningful.

    • @Cryforthebadman
      @Cryforthebadman 28 дней назад

      @@JaimeAlvarez-r9u Columbus thought he landed near India. That’s why he called the natives Indians. Leif Erickson deserves a lot of credit. He sailed with just one ship. One crew. In the North Atlantic where the conditions are much worse. We don’t know a lot about his exploration because much of what was written was lost. Scandinavians explored all over much of the world. Europe, Middle East, North Africa and North America. I’d only give Hawaiians more credit.
