Lovely video...very relaxing. Overall, two good sessions, the second being the best obviously. Those dogfish were of a pretty good size. Shame the dead bait rig didn't produce. I was sat on the edge on the edge of my chair willing it to work! Your next video looks interesting...can't wait. Stay healthy. Cheers. Ken
Fished that area last Saturday. 2 hours of the flood and 4 of the ebb. Whiting on the flood, and dogfish, pouting, whiting (consistently) and a dab on the ebb. I missed a slack line bite halfway down the ebb as well, I was proper kicking myself. Boom rigs, flappers and black lug. About 2 hours down the ebb I noticed a lot of baitfish very close in, they were jumping as kids were skimming stones near me. Water was coloured and didn’t have any feathers or lures at all, so couldn’t see if there was anything harassing them. Did see (maybe hallucinations from hope and tiredness) a few swirls on sprats which I presumed were bass. Out local on the Medway this weekend for a codling.
Thanks Rod Dungie this week 1 bass 58 cm 3 dabs 8 pouting some grandad size 10 dogfish an embarasing number of whiting but a lot were good sized channels .
Yes - Kingsdown is one of my favourite places to fish; but I think we are still a few weeks out of sink regarding weather patterns and temperatures in particular. Thanks for watching and commenting again Robin.
Absolutely loved this! Thank you Michael and what great sessions they were. Nice to see such a variety of species. I wish I could say that our fishing was as good here. Bass were the fish that this part of Ireland was once famous for. It wasn't unusual to catch them in double figures in a session. Yes they was a time when too many bass were killed. But conservation has been adhered to by the vast majority for thirty years or thereabouts. You would expect an increase in numbers even though bass take a relatively long time to reach sexual maturity. Sadly this is not the case and it is hard to understand why. Looking forward to your next video Michael.
@@rodsangleuk6283 Hello Michael and thank you for your reply. I am in West Cork, I moved here from Kerry two years ago. If you are ever visiting you are welcome to stay with me. Some of the finest storm beaches are in Kerry. Fermoyle, Inch, Barrow and so many others . All once world famous for bass fishing.
Love watching your videos Michael. I have heard they have had a couple of cod around the east brambles cardinal marker, hopefully they will be moving in towards the shore in the evenings. I had a nice pout around 2 and half pound plus loads of doggies and conger off NE Gurnard bouy last weekend in the boat.

A great video Michael, plenty of action with a variety of species. Shame you didn’t get anything on the whole pouting. I suspect the bite in the first session that mangled the poutlngs head was a cuttlefish. Looking forward to the next video.
Great video. Always interested in your Southend videos as live around there. Obviously your colmic rods are very expensive models but what reels do you use?
A bite & you can feel the fish but get snagged. That's probably a ray lost. So many anglers think they are snagged when a ray beds down and pull for breaks when they should just leave it for a while.
Yes - even small rays are good at acting like 'plungers' and can take some shifting; however in this case I know I'm casting on to snaggy ground and part of my rig gets caught up - your leader line gets roughened up, hooklengths and even the whole bottom part of rigs get cut off (as seen towards the end of the video). In the past I've hooked and wound in creatures that live on the chalk hardground like anemones and even foul-hooked pipefish.
Just a quick question - how have you found the Leeda clothing? I've been looking at the bib/brace and jacket for my general fishing. Another great vid by the way 👍
Hi Simon. I have the jacket but have not worn it yet! Hopefully it is waterproof. I just use the bib and brace as an additional layer of clothing for warmth really - mine doesn't appear that waterproof.
I would love to live in one of those beach front houses . Is the cafe that makes homemade scones and jam still there . Nice one fished there many many times .
Good shout - would love the time to relax with scones and jam whilst video editing! Kingsdown is one of my favourite venues - plenty of fish there at times. Thanks for watching.
you need to change to circle hooks for your set and forget style of fishing you will always catch them in the corner of the mouth so releasing is easy, when you get one of those fish you put out whole, knock a fillet of one side and put that out, I think you will have a better strick rate then.
Second session as good as the first Michael love watching your videos keep them coming and thanks again for your good work
Thanks again Clive.
A mixed bag. Nice one. Well done on choosing your live bait.
Thanks Mike 👍
Very enjoyable watch. I have it on in the background when I’m working. Very relaxing. Keep it up
Thanks for that Chris.

Many thanks as always Ken.
Another great video for first one loads of fish good day
Thanks
Excellent again . So nice to chill out fishing with you in these days of confusion and stress. Nice to see plenty of fish out there. Thank you.
Absolutely agree, very good for the time we are in.
Thanks Anthony 👍
Fishing therapy on the NHS anyone?
Spot on again as usual. Very entertaining fishing and tons of technical info. Many thanks.
Much appreciated Tony.
Another great video 👍
Thanks again Christopher!
Great Vlog can’t wait for the next tight lines Steve B 😁🎣👍🏻
Thanks Stephen.
Looks like the winter pout and whiting are on their way 👍🎣🐟🐟🐟🐟
Not hoards of whiting yet and there are some decent ones amongst them - I'd rather see loads of dabs moving in! Thanks for watching.

Sounds good to me - thanks for the report and good luck on the Medway.
Nice to see you in my neck of the woods ... the beach here is normally productive .
Well done another successful outing.
Thanks Michael 👍

Sounds good to me - which part did you fish?
@@rodsangleuk6283 low water first part of the flood on the point also had a codling 2 weeks ago at gallaways first for about 5 years.
Another beautiful part of England, some good fishing again , get the thermals out the closet, winter fish should be here soon

Great video. Always interested in your Southend videos as live around there. Obviously your colmic rods are very expensive models but what reels do you use?
Thanks Paul - yes the rods weren't cheap, but a good investment. I tend to use Penn Affinity 7000 reels - spools from Surfblasters fit them.
