First Haltering of a 6 wk Foal

- Haltering a foal for the first time can be difficult, especially if you don't halter in the first 30 days. This foal had been handled some and interacted with people on a daily basis but only really caught once previous to haltering. Although this is a look at a "first" time haltering of a foal, we can expect this same reaction in the future. Therefore it will be critical that we remove the halter and put the halter back on on a regular basis till she becomes accustom to this activity.

Bullshit. You don't even let her check the halter out before you grab at her face.
You could have taken the time to do this properly but you rushed it.
Abby you need to imprint on the foal so it won't be scared of you
6 weeks old? For crying out loud, leave the baby and mother alone in a field without you stupid humans trying to imprint it. Its bad enough you stalled them, where they can't be horses and the mother can't be in peace.
Lcly5 Cly No, you don't. Horses learn better with horses without human interaction. It's just been born for Fuck sake, let it explore the world before a human starts ruining it's life. It's so fucking sad.
Right. You don't handle the foal at all so it basically becomes a feral horse. Then, when it comes time to wean the foal and start training it, you will essentially have a wild horse on your hands, panicking, frightened and fighting you over every little thing.
Yep, you really know how to work with horses. You dazzle me.
Lcly 5 : Agreed... (6) Weeks Too LONG!!!...
pdjdjdj djd : Go Hug A Shrub or Whale Watching!...
