But if they were indeed antistatic it would not be static at the beginning, so how you came to the conclusion that once you cleaned them they will no go static again? 🤗
I'm no expert, but I don't think you can buy radioactive products on the open market. Doc Brown had to make a deal with the Libyans that almost got him killed just to power the flux capacitor.
@@thevinylattack well there’s degrees of radioactivity, weapons grade plutonium is hard to come by, but a glowing watchface isn’t. From my understanding, the anti static brushes sold for cleaning vynil records have radioactive elements in them. It works because the emitted charged particles knock the static charge off the other atoms. So such things should be treated carefully to avoid potential cancerous exposure, or loss of data with hard drives, and maybe tapes too.
@@SwirlingDragonMist Well, considering anti-static brushes don't work (see my video on that) I'd say you have nothing to worry about. Anti-static devices like the Destat use ions, not radioactivity, to eliminate static.
@@thevinylattack well an ion is an atom with extra electrons, or fewer electrons. When we look at the periodic table the radioactive elements are basically just jammed full of electrons, like 200 compared to hydrogen's 1. So the expression of saying "ions" is perhaps just one semantic step away from saying the product has mildly radioactive isotopes. There's a whole category of health products sold as ion therapy, like wristbands and stuff for muscle recovery, and they were found to be radiological elements. So I'm not trying to be argumentative or anything, I just wanted to kinda re-submit the idea that it's probably radioactive, and dangerous, and should'nt be sold. if it runs on batteries it's probably fine, if it's just a lump of magic material. it's radioactive material, it's the only way to ship ions. Hope this helps somehow and isn't just a lame reiterative youtube argument ha ha I wonder if you just need a more radiative anti static brush for it to work? ha ha
Now I'm gonna have "Channel Z" by The B-52s stuck in my head for the next few hours. Thanks, Chris!
sing twinkle twinkle little star outloud, it will bust any song loop stuck in yr head. because it's like deep developmental brain audio
I indeed use my Furutech Destat 3 to occasionally just wrestle my new album from the crazy "condom-like" grip around the disc. Great shareworthy tip!
I've had to do the same on occasion.
huh, thanks, had no idea
What alien technology is that, and how it's called?
That's a Destat III.
I use Mofi inner and outer sleeves. I’m assuming they’re great cause I’ve never had an issue with them.
What sleeves do you recommend Chris?
I like the sleeves by Vinyl Storage Solutions and Mofi. They both seem to work great.
Any recommendations for outer sleeves that you can write/paste the info if the original cover is not available?
I use Vinyl Storage Solutions for most of my outer sleeves. I haven't tried to write on them though.
But if they were indeed antistatic it would not be static at the beginning, so how you came to the conclusion that once you cleaned them they will no go static again? 🤗
Because I've used them for years, and once you treat them you're good to go.
@@thevinylattack mine became static again after 3 years
And the static clearing device you used is radioactive is it not?

Nah just toss a drier sheet in it. Works awesome with my socks
It won't do any good, but it'll certainly smell better.
