I was able to look at Thrive before subscribing. I think it’s a great resource for getting certain food items that are diet related such as gluten free, paleo, etc.
We were not prepared for mustache Tyler 😭🤣 Also- LOVE when you leave your hot all natural. My cuz used to have super curly hair but wrecked it with flat iron 🫠 so it can happen..
Honestly it’s refreshing to watch you be flabbergasted by how much people order in! My husband and I are also mid 30s and hardly ever order in. Maybe once a month? We try to go out for a date night at least every other week but it’s all just so expensive now a days. Lucky for us I enjoy cooking and we always keep a few lazy day things in the pantry and freezer when we need it.
I am in my saving money era lol I am all about cooking, meal planning (just can’t get into meal prep), being that “we have it at home” mom/wife, and even tell myself “I don’t need that-I have something similar” etc etc hahaha It’s becoming my new obsession. I tend to find a new hobby every 3-6 months and my current obsession is budget lol We still have our fun money but it’s budgeted and under control rather than just swiping our debit card for everything
Jessica... I'm about to blow your mind with curly hair products! I've been trying to get back into styling my hair natural which is curly/wavy, And it has been a struggle for the past 4 years. Recently I was at Ulta and I spoke with a stylist there who had curly hair herself and she suggested two products to me. And they have been a HUGE game changer for wearing my natural curls. The first is CurlSmith effortless waves, and the second is Not Your Mother's activating curl talk moose. The stylist told me to only put the moose in at my roots for volume and use the effortless waves throughout my hair and then lightly scrunch and diffuse as normal, or air dry. I cannot tell you the vast difference that these two products alone have made in my hair!
Curlsmith products are amazing... On the mousse front, always put it through soaking wet hair. So much definition without any stickiness. I use mousse all over, but I also use foams too. There's not many products I haven't given a whirl.
Curly girl here - the Shark blow dryer and diffuser are hands-down the best I’ve ever used in my 43 years, they have been an absolute game changer. There is a light in the dark if something happens to your beloved blow dryer! As always, thanks for putting a smile in my heart; your content, you, and your family are just the absolute best.💚
The blessed self-awareness of, “So one thing I’ve noticed about myself is that I will not put two and two together when it comes to the most obvious things in life” and, “I love coffee as I have made abundantly clear.” At last! The realness and the true work of growing up.
I’m 40 and I have a friend that I’ve known since 7th grade and every few months we’ll meet up for breakfast. It’s so nice to have time with just us. We get a break from husbands and kids and just get to have some time chatting and catching up. It’s important to make time for friendships especially ones that you’ve had for a long time.
At the end when you were talking about the coloring book type items, Pinocchio looked too perfect. 😂 Like a fake dog in the background as a decoration. He’s so cute.
I'm 39 yrs old and I find the adult friendships in my life are such a blessing and joy to me. I live far from most of them, but we are in constant contact via podcast length voicenotes and videos and photos. We make plans to see each other once or twice a year. We support one another and love one another in our daily lives. I value these friendships highly.
I have naturally curly hair. I shop in the “ethnic” section for hair products. Shea Moisture has a really good line of leavin products … sprays, creams and mouses for curly hair.
Shea Moisture is great! I have to be careful with some of their products because they're so hydrating and conditioning that they weigh down my super fine hair.
As a fellow curly hair girl who struggles to embrace it, just sending you hugs for the journey ahead! It’s so hard! My biggest advice is to stay off of reddit/social media (everyone’s hair is different and there is no right way), and find a curly hair stylist and get a curl cut. I was nervous to get a curl cut, but I found a stylist that I liked on IG, and I was completely honest with her about my struggles, that I wanted to still be able to heat style it sometimes and all that stuff. She was super nice and told me what products would work best on my hair, walked me through how to do it step by step and my hair has been so much better since then! For me personally what she recommended was way simpler than all the stuff I was seeing online (just shampoo and conditioner, a specific lighter gel and a leave in conditioner).
Ok curl talk here…..you have fine lightweight wavy curly hair so any curl creams or heavier products like that are going to weigh your curls down and make them waves. If you look back at your old videos you have curly hair. Mousse works better on your hair because it doesn’t weigh it down. The best mousse I’ve ever used and trust me I’ve tried them all…is the Not your mothers curl talk curl activating mousse. They have a couple different mousses in that line so make sure you get the activating one. If you can, skip the diffuser. It adds to the frizz. The other thing with mousse is you need more than you think you do. For your hair length you can probably use a couple baseball sized handfuls of it. Run it all the way through from root to tip and make sure your hair is all coated. Scrunch your curls once the mousse is applied. And then don’t touch it. If you can, let your hair air dry. Once it’s completely dry, flip your head upside down and scrunch out the “crunch” of the mousse. Your curls keep their shape and aren’t crunchy dry. And one more tip, if you like volume at the top….while your hair is drying have it parted on the opposite side than you normally do. When it’s fully dry and you flip and scrunch, then do your normal part. You’ll have good volume from it drying on the opposite side. Also, trust me when I say, you only need the mousse. You don’t need more than one product when the product works as well as this one does. Sorry for the wordy post😂 It has taken me a long time to figure out my curls. Now that I have I’m telling anyone that asks😂💗
Thank you for posting this! I have straight hair but my daughter has wavy hair and I am clueless! Her hair is wavy if she doesn’t brush it but if she brushes it, it is mostly straight with a loose slightly wavy texture which is actually very pretty but she would like to be able to wear her hair wavy with more success. I will try your suggestions on her hair. Thanks!
I just recently at 29 found out I have curly/wavy hair. What do you do second day? It's always so tangled and knotted but if I brush out all the product from the day before it goes poofy.
@@maddielc204 I personally wear silk bonnets/caps while I sleep. They are super cheap and you can get them from target Walmart Amazon etc. It keeps my hair from getting tangled. Definitely don’t brush through curly hair because it will always just poof and frizz. In the morning I take off the bonnet, then at the sink I get a little water in my hands and squirt a very small amount of the same Not your mothers curl activating mousse…kinda just mix it together in my hands and scrunch all throughout my hair. As it runs out in my hands I add a little more water and a little more mousse and continue. It’s just a small amount though it doesn’t make my hair wet all over again. It just resets the curls and tames any frizz. And then once it’s dry, which doesn’t take long at all since it’s not that wet, I go through and scrunch out the little bit of crunch. Sometimes on second day I use a little bit of hairspray too. The thing about curly and wavy hair is it’s always unpredictable 😂 But these things have been working for me for years now so I’m happy to share🤗💗
Our order-in trend is pretty similar to yours, mostly because it's harder to modify and find things that our kids will eat. I prefer to cook homeade meals at least 4-5 days a week, usually Monday - Thursday, and all breakfasts and lunches are from home as well. Fridays we either have leftovers or something from the freezer, and then weekends are a free for all. I never like cooking on the weekends because we often are invited to family's houses last minute to eat. I also hate paying the extra money for delivery/tip, so we save takeout for when I"m out and about grocery shopping and can pick it up on the way home... y'all know you never feel like cooking less than when you come home with a car full of groceries, exhausted and then have to put everything away.
Mousse is definitely the way to go especially with wavy/curly hair. My all time favorite is the herbal essence tousle me softly. I don’t use it as much as I used to because I breakout a lot more whenever I use any product in my hair but when I want my curls really nice that’s what I go to. Second day hair after using it is so good usually
Geez, I'm 53 years old and I have not had an adult friendship for probably 20 years. I don't have one single solitary Friend. That is sad and pitiful to say out loud. There's really not a lot I can do about it cuz I'm pretty much bound my house thanks to chronic pain. It says it is a devastating and lonely experience. That's despite the fact that I'm married and three of my children still live at home. I feel like I live a solitary lonely existence. I totally agree that you need friendships.
This made me sad Dawn. 😔I’m sure you are a lovely person, and you deserve friends. Even if you can’t leave your house, maybe you could FaceTime with someone once in awhile? And if that doesn’t work, just keep leaving comments in videos so people can chat with you. Internet friends are nice 💗💗
If you're in to reading, I joined a virtual book club through my library. We meet once a month and it's all virtual. Highly recommend checking out your library if you're able to.
Lean into online friendships. The online world got me through postpartum depression at during the initial lockdown during the pandemic. Was a lifesaver. Online friendships can be so meaningful.
Thanks ladies!! Unfortunately I don't have any online friendships either. I tinker around here and there in different groups. I have no hobbies I stick with cuz it's hard to have hobbies. When you have to spend most of your time in the vertical position. I can only stay upright for about a max of 30 minutes at a time because of my tailbone pain. I don't have a whole lot in common with a whole lot of people. It's hard to hold people's interests. When I don't have a whole lot of stuff going on in my life but medical blah blah blah people don't want to hear that heavy crap all the time. I don't blame them at all. It's too depressing to burden someone else with. The struggle is real people, the struggle is real 😭
Congrats! On February 1st my daughter gave birth to her first child and my first grandchild and I was blessed to be there for the birth along with her husband. Absolutely incredible and full of emotions!
Love the wavy hair. My family stays away from door dash and equivalent services. We find it too expensive. Love your video content and your beautiful personality. Been watching you for over 10 years now ❤
Great video, Jessica! I watched this today because of the Dollar Tree haul. I recently spent about $60 there to prepare for a Celebration of Life get together that I will be attending tomorrow. It will be held at a DAV Chapter. The guy who died from cancer was a relatively young (61) Navy Veteran who was exposed to toxic chemicals when he served on an Aircraft Carrier in the 1980's. He has several grandchildren, and they have cousins and family friends who might attend. As a mom and a former teacher, I am thinking about the kids. I bought several board books the younger kids can "read". I also got several different sticker, coloring, and activity books (including Sidoko and word search books for the older kids) similar to the ones you showed today. I am also bringing colored pencils, washable markers, stickers, 4x6 index cards and some cardstock so the kids can draw (and add stickers to) their own creations. I thought it might be helpful to give the kids a chance to create something while their parents socialize, memorialize, and grieve their grandpa. I didn't need to spend so much money, especially at DT, but I wanted to make sure that I had enough so that every child could pick out their own activity book and draw, using a variety of materials. I thought it was funny that I saw your DT haul video today, showing the gifts you bought for your own daughters, the day before I will be bringing my DT "kid's art supply tote" to a Celebration of Life get together. (I also bought tote there for $5.) Thanks for the video! ❤️❤️❤️
My favorite curl mousse is the “Not Your Mothers Curl Talk.” Make sure it’s the mousse, not the foam. It’s carried at Ulta and most Targets and Walmarts.
Hey Jessica! The OGX Locking+Coconut curl mousse is my holy grail, I've gone through so many bottles of it 💜 I have pretty fine hair and I find that it adds a lot of volume and really helps with frizz 😊
Is that mouse only for curly hair volume? I'd love to try it but I have short fine hair that needs volume. Anything coconut 🥥 intrigues me. I can smell coconut by just looking at the word 😂
Perfect for a Friday afternoon! Teacher here and took today as a personal/mental health day. This is so nice to watch as I put away groceries and refresh things for the weekend.
Jess, please bring your older videos back to your channel. I’ve been watching you since your first video where you sat on the floor and reviewed makeup. I’m 62 and learned about makeup from you and Emily Noel. I love your channel!,
Bed Head Foxy Curls mousse is my favorite, but it can get crunchy(just scrunch out the crunch when fully dry). You might like the OGX Coconut Curls Decadent Creamy Mousse! The Doux Crazy Sexy Curl has a All in 1 Setting Foam that is really nice also!
I started subscribing to Thrive Market 3 years ago because of you. I renew every year because I try the products you suggest and I love them. There are so many things you suggested that I wouldn’t not have thought to try. Keep those reviews coming!
Great Vlog! Your makeup, especially the lip, was so on point in the pink jacket portion! Love you natural curly hair. Tyler with a stash...hmmmm...think I am a fan.🎉
Congratulations on the new precious babies in your life! 🎉 Fun dollar store haul. But, I have to admit that I was pretty distracted by your cute puppy 🐶!
You look absolutely smashing in that corally pink top. That’s your color and your makeup is on point! Such a springy color! Dilemma here is how to dress for Easter! It’s freezing here in Maryland!!!! The Easter bunny is bringing my girls (yes…the Easter bunny still visits my 25 and 26 yr old) outfits with a full face of ELF makeup! Love your Mickey mug!!! I’m drinking Nespresso out of my Donald Duck mug just like yours!!! ❤ As for ordering in, we never do! No one delivers where we live! 🤣
We used to order food every Friday, we call it pizza Friday… my husband has being doing weight watchers since Jan 1st and we haven’t ordered in since. It definitely saves money, Dominos or Papa John’s gets expensive real quick
I am one of those girls that doesn’t enjoy cooking. My husband cooks us dinners most of the time but when we have a lot going on that day or he’s not in the mood to cook he will pick up food from places. That’s still expensive though. It’s one of my number one goals to make cooking enjoyable so I can do it and help us save money. Any tips on how to make cooking fun? I admit I get bored getting stuck standing in one place. Should I clean in the kitchen when there’s idle time cooking things? Any ideas welcome because I don’t want to let my laziness keep costing me and my family.
I try to buy mostly solid red gift bags as you can use them for literally any holiday/birthday/anniversary and you can put some stickers on them to personalize if you want like a huge Happy Birthday sticker or Congrats Graduate or something or just leave blank. That way I always have something that'll work for anything. Then I have a variety of tissue paper colors so I can match the tissue to be more specific to the event (sparkly for a wedding, blue for a boy, pink for a girl, orange or black for fall, green for Christmas, or ones that say HBD or Merry Christmas or whatever, etc. Then all I have to think about is the size of the bag and if I have a variety of sizes, I'm good for the year. Red is perfect for anything. Can even do blue and white tissue for the 4th of July and green for St. Pat's Day with some shamrock stickers on the bag!
I’ve been able to be in the room for the births of my two grandchildren, and what a wonderful experience!! I’m so happy you were able to witness the birth of your new niece or nephew (if you said, I missed it). Congratulations!!! 🩷💙🩷💙
Wella shockwaves mousse or umberto Giannini curl mousse are both great 💖 xx ps: you looked so beautiful when you were making tea! Hair and makeup was gorgeous 💕
The Treseme Curl Mousse is fantastic! I have naturally curly red hair, so frizz and I are in a pretty committed relationship. Zero frizz with this product!
I’ve been using the Tresemme flawless curls moisturizing mousse and my hair looks great! So curly, all day hold. I scrunch it into damp hair and by the next morning my hair is still curly and looking good.
Loving your wavy/curly hair. I’ve tried a lot of different products, and my absolute fave is SunBum waves and curls mousse. It’s like coconut scented whipped cream. It’s very moisturizing and doesn’t leave my hair feeling “crunchy.”
I LOVE your natural hair! I highly recommend Not Your Mother’s Curl Talk products. Except for mousse, for YEARS I’ve been using the Herbal Essences curl mousse. The perfect hold without being crunchy.
Jess, you NEED the catrice pure nude eyeshadow palette. It's so good for minimal looks! I like most everything you like and trust me when I say you'll love it.
Such good topics! 1) Maintaining adult friendships, especially after kids is so hard. 2) My hair was straight until my 20s but with some care and research I’ve gotten it pretty curly. 3) We never order in. We live semi-rural so either find something at home, go out to store, or get takeout from local restaurants.
My hubs and I are avid meal prep pets the last 17 years but we’re in a season of convenience and it’s nice when you can be served. I’d say at least once a week for ordering some type of food: pizza, chipotle or a cafe we really like. Otherwise, a convenient food still from the grocery store is one of those hot n ‘ ready rotisserie chickens. We get those at least twice a month.
Fellow wavy/curly hair gal here! I love the Shea Moisture mousse. Also, if you’ve never tried the Cake Beauty curl line (especially the shampoo, conditioner and curl cream) they’re amazinggggg and on Amazon!
Congratulations to your sister and family on the new baby! What a special time for you all. ❤ And you look lovely with your natural curls! I have stick straight hair naturally, and have slowly learned to embrace the "hair God gave me". 😅
Your hair looks fantastic curly!! My fave mousse that is not crunchy at all is Amika Plus Size. Holds curl great but softly, but also gives me some volume on straight days. Not cheap though.
I have curly hair and LOVE the shea moisture coconut and hibiscus mousse. It smells amazing and has such a nice texture. They also sell a cream thats called a "curl smoothie" - orange packaging. I'll use just a little bit of that to tamp down any extra frizz. That combo has been working great for me and I live in TN where it can be pretty humid!
You can make your own color glue. When the marker no longer colors you can take off the end. Put the Marker Felt piece inside white glue. You can see the glue turn color over the next few days. It takes time but as a teacher it’s so cool to use. It’s a fun way to use a marker that no longer works.
Mousse is my #1 curly hair product. Suave has my favorite Mousse. Its a cream Mousse that leave youre hair soft but curls are defined. Its in a red and white bottle.
Hi Jessica. I have naturally curly hair and my favorite drugstore mousses are Not Your Mothers Curl Talk mousse and OGX Coconut Curls mousse. They are both so creamy and moisturizing and have great hold☺️
Someone probably posted it already. You can get a waterbrush to take for the books that you mentioned you need a brush and water. You fill it and viola you're ready and you don't have to seek out something to put the water in etc. You can use them to dip in the water but it works great when you need the stuff to paint all in one thing. P.S. you can also get ones for kids that have like a bullet tip vs a brush tip and chubby for little fingers.
Hi, Jessica! I love that you’re wearing your hair natural. I have extremely curly hair. I have tried the high end products, but I haven’t found anything that works well for me. My go to is gel, followed by Aussie Miracle Curls Mousse and then Aussie Sprunch Spray. With your curl pattern I wouldn’t suggest the gel, but you might want to give the Aussie a try 😊
Congrats Auntie! So cool that you got to be there for the birth. We don’t have an order in option as we live in a tiny town, but I love to cook so it’s all good. Loved the pinkish, puffed sleeve jacket/shirt? on you 🩷
I love ❤️ the Rao soups, thanks 👍 to your recommendation. So yummy. 😋 Next best thing to home-made. Seriously 😳 great tasting. So thank you Jessica !!! ☺️. A Blessed and happy Easter ⬆️🕯️🕊️to you and your family. 🙏
I share your exact type of curl. My fav drugstore mousse is Suave Simply Styled Wave Mousse. High end is Surface Curls whipped mousse…the best! My daughter has even more curls and we have loved the Knot Genie brush since a baby…still using it at age 14!

Which shark blow dryer in particular?
Your lip colour when you're talking about your tea, is absolutely stunning on you! I love the darker more matte lip on you, my goodness!!!!!!

Try the Not Your Mothers Curl Talk Mousse. The whole line is great but especially their mousse!
I love this too! And the scent is sooo good. I would buy the perfume if they sold it!
This is the one I came to comment, too!!! I love it!

Good luck in the next few weeks! :)

See for me mousse isn’t great for second day hair but I haven’t tried that mousse! I like the bumble and bumble one and the fructis one!
Your curly hair is so pretty
Congrats! On February 1st my daughter gave birth to her first child and my first grandchild and I was blessed to be there for the birth along with her husband. Absolutely incredible and full of emotions!
My husband and I are frugal lol we never get stuff delivered. We'll either go out to eat or suck it up and pick it up 😅
Love the wavy hair. My family stays away from door dash and equivalent services. We find it too expensive. Love your video content and your beautiful personality. Been watching you for over 10 years now ❤
You are typically always my foundation twin. When you talk about foundation and concealer would you mind listing the shade too. ❤
Mustache Tyler is amazing. I love it 😂
Great video, Jessica!
(I also bought tote there for $5.)
Thanks for the video! ❤️❤️❤️
My favorite curl mousse is the “Not Your Mothers Curl Talk.” Make sure it’s the mousse, not the foam. It’s carried at Ulta and most Targets and Walmarts.
Tresemme extra hold volumizing mousse is my favorite!
Mine too! ❤
Fave mousse for curly hair…not drugstore, but oh so good! It’s the Kenra extra volume mousse!!!
My fav curl products are from the brand Not Your Mother’s Curl Talk line. I use the cream, mouse then finish off with some gel for lasting curls.
My mom and I both use that one and love it!
Ouidad makes some great curly hair products. I love the Not Your Mother’s curl talk line for drugstroe
@@jann3443 it isn't a super heavy-duty mousse, so it may still work even if you don't have curly hair. It smells sooooo good as well 😁
I didn't want to give up the coffee in the afternoon, so I switched to decaf in the second half of the day. Best of both worlds 😂
Perfect for a Friday afternoon! Teacher here and took today as a personal/mental health day. This is so nice to watch as I put away groceries and refresh things for the weekend.
John Frieda makes a drugstore mousse for curls that works well for me!
The not your mother’s curl talk mousse is great! That whole line is honestly great
Agreed!
Jess, please bring your older videos back to your channel. I’ve been watching you since your first video where you sat on the floor and reviewed makeup. I’m 62 and learned about makeup from you and Emily Noel.
I love your channel!,
The best drug store sulfate free mousse is the “not your mother’s brand” amazing!
Congratulations to your sister!! 🥳🎉That must have been amazing to witness her birth so exciting. 💕🙏 Btw, your curls are gorgeous Jessica. 🥰
Wet chalk or wet then dried chalk is so vibrant! It’s much softer and you go through it faster but soooo much more vibrant in color
Your natural hair is beautiful!
Fun dollar store haul.
My favorite is the Garnier Fructis Curl Construct Mousse! So good! Does not leave your curls crunchy!
Same thing we order in like twice a month. Thanks for the video, fun to watch.
I love your hair curly! It looks great! Thanks for sharing the curly hair products. I love the Not Your Mother's Curl Talk mousse.
We order in multiple times a week 😩 deff trying to be better about it.
I’ve been trying to wear my hair naturally curly too 😊 A product I’ve been enjoying is the dove curl mousse
Wella shockwaves mousse or umberto Giannini curl mousse are both great 💖 xx ps: you looked so beautiful when you were making tea! Hair and makeup was gorgeous 💕
Congrats Aunt Jessica! I never get food delivered, but we pick up for maybe once every other three weeks.
The Pantene shaping and curling mousse is great 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Pinocchio napping! ❤
Harney and sons tea tip: I started getting the big bag of loose leaf on Amazon. SO much cheaper per cup of tea (bonus less waste!).
Yes, Girl! Caprese is so good!
I love the “not your mothers” curly mousse!
For the water painting books, Look in the artist section at a craft store and get a water brush for water coloring. So good for doing those on the go.
So looked forward to watching today! Had a heck of a day at school today!
My area is too rural to even offer door dash…. But we own a restaurant, so more often than not my dinner is from a takeout container.
I love watching your vlogs. It's like having a conversation with a good friend who happens to live a few states away. ☺
As soon as you said Piada all I think of was Peter Monn cos he’s obsessed with that place 😂 ❤
Girl, I'm listening to you but Pinnochio looks so cute in the BG. Love it! Feature him more!
The puffy headband reminds me of Ursula 😄. Maybe it could be King Titan. They're just very Under the Seaish.
Also, as a 3A curly, I really like the OGX locking + coconut curls decadent creamy mousse, or the Marc Anthony curl enhancing styling foam.
Mousse is my #1 curly hair product. Suave has my favorite Mousse. Its a cream Mousse that leave youre hair soft but curls are defined. Its in a red and white bottle.
That Seven Sundays Cocoa cereal, man! I just bought some for the first time a few weeks ago. SO GOOD! I love it.
Hi Jessica. I have naturally curly hair and my favorite drugstore mousses are Not Your Mothers Curl Talk mousse and OGX Coconut Curls mousse. They are both so creamy and moisturizing and have great hold☺️
The Heritage curl products are fantastic sold at Walmart. Also Carols daughter has a great mousse
Loved the pinkish, puffed sleeve jacket/shirt? on you 🩷
We go through phases ordering in, most months about twice, then we'll have an end of the meal plan week and it'll be 4 or 5 times that one month
Love the darker lippie on you!
John Freda Curl Moose is so good. Have the same hair, going back natural and it’s amazing. The whole line is good too
Will have to try!!
Yes!!! Doing my nap time chores right now and was hoping for a video 🙏🏽🎉
Drugstore curl mousse - Aussie brand, Herbal Essences brand, and TresEmme has one too!
I share your exact type of curl. My fav drugstore mousse is Suave Simply Styled Wave Mousse. High end is Surface Curls whipped mousse…the best! My daughter has even more curls and we have loved the Knot Genie brush since a baby…still using it at age 14!
