If you want more sound, do the 3" hole and elbow and hose mod. A 3" hole in side of airbox, next to fender (wing). Then a 3" bulkhead connector, an intake elbow, and an intake flex hose. Parts I used made by Spectre, readily available Stateside. Use whatever is available locally. Can be metric equivalent to 3", or slightly larger. 4" is too big, not enough room. Route hose into conveniently available nearby opening in inner fender (wing). You'll get improved cool air into airbox, more air volume (much larger airbox opening), and most of all, sound. Not as much sound as removing lid, maybe about a third to half. But you won't get the heatsoak that comes with removing lid. Quite the opposite, air temps coming from that fender (wing) opening is much cooler, since not flowing near radiator. These two mods compliment each other nicely. Airboxectomy, and adding ducted hose. PS, I used a coping saw to perform the airbox surgery. A saw used for fine detail cutting home interior wood molding. Nice rounded corners. Looks factory. Since the purpose of that interior wall is to prevent any water ingested by airbox from reaching air filter, I decided to leave about an inch of it in place. So I still have at least some amount of protection. Honda has to account for the 1% of idiots that might drive through a flooded street. I just want some measure of protection in case of another car splashing a huge puddle up my grill. That 1" works for me.
@@accelerateyoutube Looking forward to that video :) Alfie drove Betsy after the new mod's & scared himself. Looking forward to seeing you both at Combe, i have signed up for charity passenger rides. Don't know if Kenny want's to as well ?
I did this and also couldn't hear any difference whatsoever. On my old AP1 i had an AEM V2 CAI which sounded amazing, but on this one I've picked up a new Mugen intake but don't want to cut the factory hood so I'm holding out until I can source a real Mugen hood to match.
I did think of that, but it still retains the factory look on the outside so I'm not too concerned, I'd rather the engine breath better lol I imagine the AEM V2 sounds amazing! Thank you for watching! - Drew

You must be hearing something different to me. No difference at all

You've ruined what I'd imagine will be a rare item soon lol. I got an AEM V2 which is supposed to be good but I'd like the OEM airbox
I did think of that, but it still retains the factory look on the outside so I'm not too concerned, I'd rather the engine breath better lol
I imagine the AEM V2 sounds amazing!
Thank you for watching!

@@accelerateyoutube I've got the AEM V2 on mine... Sounds amazing
I had the k&n induction on mine. The heat soak was atrocious. Ran much better with a k&n filter and box mod
The difference is night and day!!!
Было:Фиат,стало:Феррари 😂
Now buy a k&n filter and hear the difference
Sounds much better in the flesh. Deffo worth doing 👌
A-men!
