Maybe a hop to San Juan, Puerto Rico (a US associate state ... So you won't be homesick that much) ... THERE you'll experience the tropics first hand. And then, a longer hop ... To Hawaii ... Still, the US. Ans, once you're comfortable with travel, and getting to know the world, maybe a daring hop to the Maldives! If you want to see some historic sites and experience a little bit of European culture and traditions ... Visit the Mediterranean (South-Eastern Spain, South-Eastern France, most of Italy, Greece, Croatia, etc.), and you'll still be quite warm (not like in the tropics, but ...)
