Andrew Baird thanks Andrew. I might be flying into Eagle airport later this week. I'm hopping I won't have to do an approach. I prefer pretty skies when flying into mountain airports.
Hello Capt, Great plane, great video !! Out of curiosity, what triggered the master warning upon landing? I'm asking cause I go to Loft (In Carlsbad) next month for the type rating (Ultra) and did not receive the documentation yet. Cheers from france!
Great video! I live in Denver, and while I LOVE aviation, turbulence makes me nervous. But not long ago, I saw a video here on RUclips from 1995 for the official 777 wing test at Boeing's headquarters. Pretty impressive! Do they test smaller wings, like the wing of your Encore, to be able to handle turbulence?
Hello Captain. Like your opinion on this. Sitting here with 3 high time pilots and the disagreement is which airport is more challenging to fly into with weather. I told them that Eagle never gave me any problems and fond Aspen more difficult. What say you. Like this video with the "new" look.
Thanks Captain Art. I agree with you, I like the wide angle perspective. I also agree that Aspen in my opinion is the more challenging airport. I'm basing this on 1. higher elevation - reduced aircraft performance 2. complex arrival and departure procedures 3. potential for rapidly changing weather. 4. one way in and out. My nightmare scenario would be to shoot the approach to minimums as the weather is rapidly deteriorating. At minimums visually acquire the runway and descend below the MDA. On short final, 100 feet above airport elevation, the runway is suddenly unusable and you abort the landing. As you start to climb loose and engine :0
Steve Baker Hi Steve this is a big problem. I'm normally trying to get the cockpit, outside view, and audio. I tried the higher frame rate but it only helped a little. What helps the most is if I get a straight view into the cockpit but then the auto focus will focus on the inside or out and then one is to blury, dark or washed out. I'll just have to keep experimenting.
The solution,I think, is the frame rate needs to be out of phase with the aircraft AC electrical system or the frame rate refresh. i.e. the frame rate may be multiples of a 50Hz system or in Australia it is a 60Hz system. This is what strobe effect or a beat effect is the result.
This is one of my favourites Jim. Lovely approach.
5BASSIP Thanks. Unfortunately the video only captures a fraction of the beauty of flying into Eagle on a pretty day.
New camera angle is great! Really enjoy the videos, especially with the new angle! Gives a better idea on what's going on!
Thanks Caleb.
Excellent vid and that camera angle is great. Allows good views of all operations. Thanks for posting.
Thanks Megabuck. The wide angle look is growing on me also.
Excellent video. Thanks for taking the time to make it.
+New State Journal thanks. Appreciate your taking the time to leave a comment.
Was shooting approaches there and at Aspen last week in the sim. We fly out of North Carolina and do not make it out west much.
Nice video !

Nicely done!
Thanks Kmen.
I live in Eagle!!! 'tis a wonderful town!!!
I work at the facility off the west end of the runway. Cool video !
george kuersten Thanks George.
such a neat aircraft...
hola mi cap. usted el mejor gracias y saludos.!
Muy Gracias for your support Comander402.

Wow! Thanks For The Great Ride Along. Coming In Looked Like Dozens & Dozens Of Ski Area. Is That Right?
Yes, we passed lots of ski runs.

Yes, but I've never seen the testing on video. Would like to see that.
sweet !!!!!
have a gooday!
I always wanted to do what you do. Maybe in the next life.

You guys should do it in the early fall :)
That's a great time of year there.
Where's the cup holder? lol, awesome vids sir
Just picked up the fuzzy dice. Forgot the cup holders.
thanks great video just one question did you had any altitude reading errors due to cold airport restriction ??
No. When we landed it was cold but not that cold.
captmoonbean was this filmed in June? It seems a bit odd for there to be snow everywhere in the middle of summer.
This video was made towards the end of April. They had a late snow a few days earlier.
It's right here: Boeing 777 Wing Test
Probably need to use a GoPro high frame rate reduce the strobe effect that prevents the viewers from seeing the MFD's

Hmmm, sterile cockpit below 10K? Costco for fried chicken?
Pretty greasy
