She is right about the sugar item if you can keep it like in a 10 no plastic just waxed paper between the sugar and the tin and today the modern convenience of drying packets a sugar peace can be kept almost indefinitely. I have a piece it was my grams 3rd wedding cake topper so it must be close to over 60 plus years old. I also have one that was made for me is it quite large that is 42 years old. These types of pieces are a lost art. Mine is a 2 dimensional Bible with beautiful 3 dimensional flowers as a bouquet across the open page. Grandma's is a bouquet of three-dimensional sugar flowers that look so real at first I thought they were dried flowers and she told me you know they were made out of sugar. For this one Baker to suggest it amazed me because so many of them don't work in it anymore they simply do it with frosting or pre-made products or molded things that are made out of jelly and brushed with sugar. I was in a special class for those who qualified and passed the test at the end of the year for home Eck the required class only those the teacher allowed into this course got to take it it was not an open elective and she taught us how to do special three-dimensional sugar cookies and the sugar Decor including sugar eggs where they were open with scenes inside was quite amazing. My family had a couple of my eggs well up into my adulthood but when I left home my sister who had been angry she couldn't take the class through them away the first Christmas I wasn't home my mom was devastated because they were broken when she found them in the trash. They were so beautiful the way our instructor had had us to them that you really couldn't tell that they were made from sugar and friends and family thought they were made from clay and fired the woman that taught us this art form was a clay artist and I think that's why she had us do it the way she did. I saw that in books they weren't as pretty as the ones that we did.
The most amazing and ever so beautiful Cake I have ever seen!!! It's ashamed I live in England or I would of been knocking at your door to make me the same one lol . Truly amazing .:)
I can't help but think of that scene in the film 'Bride Wars' where Kate Hudson describes what cake she wants and the detail takes forever. 'I have to have the white chocolate torte with buttercream frosting enrobed in marzipan with edible pearls.' LOL
i think she should have used a white satin or silver satin cloth instead of a red cloth... knowing that all the decorations on the cake was edible made it a beautiful cake....at first i thought the decorations were plastic.
I would do a 5 tier high cake with classic and elegant style all white, perhaps red flowers on some tiers incorperated seing as that is the couples colors., and decoritions in white chocolate and iced sugarcrystal, a wintery snowflake in sheer crystal at the top.
Unless you are talking about the cone shaped zoo cake I don't think I've seen it, I can find anymore episodes of this show apart from the one currently on this channel
For me, the first baker had better taste. "Your flowers look plastic", not a compliment in my book. It was still beautiful--but in a tight, overly fussy way. If she decided to go with red on white, which is already bold--then the addition of green makes it more tacky. That is, unless you can break it up, get it loose and give it movement. Everything being edible isn't necessarily a virtue. It often is, but given the bold color choice, REAL/FRESH red heritage roses, ranunculus, and other small flowers with sprigs of berries, like holly and juniper berries, would've made the cake more beautiful.
I couldn't agree more. That plastic holly was atrocious. There so many more beautiful choices from the natural world that she could have made. The red lace element didn't really work that well. She had some isolated white on white textile like decorations which might have worked well as a "canvas" on which to build the design. The problems I've seen with the bakers on this show stem from a lack of solid design skills as well as execution. I'm rather shocked the best designers in England are not featured. They have so far seemed amateurish. The won with lumpy chocolate cake was embaressing.
The 3rd lady presented the simplest & 'boring' cakes of all for the one who claimed to be the bold one & has the unique taste/idea. Personally, I would prefer the 1st one but anyways the cake turns out fine.
The cake seemed entirely too large for the size of the wedding. I personally did NOT like the cake; although, I can appreciate the work that went into it.
Combining the textures and themes of a wedding dress and winter wonderland white on white could've resulted in a really elegant cake. She had a bit of it, but so much more could've been done. With addition of fresh greenery at the base and fresh red flowers. The bakery didn't have the talent bandwidth to conceive or execute something like that. I don't get this show.
That cake was absolutely beautiful I think they made a great choice!!!!!!😊🍰🎂
Is anyone else on a cake vidoe binge???
Carrie Beagle yes
Carrie Beagle me!
Always!!! 💯💯💯💯💯
I am, it’s six years later so I hope your binge has finished
Yes
The 1st cake maker has a fairy voice type. Her cakes are very beautiful and sweet looking.💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

Such a pretty bride. Loved her gown.
the cake makers were so nice especially the first lady, her cakes are pretty and cool but the final cake is very nice
I believe everything should be edible on a wedding cake-nothing fake.
Lucas G i agree
Yes !!
What was not edible? The flowers she made them.
LOVE this cake!
The most amazing and ever so beautiful Cake I have ever seen!!! It's ashamed I live in England or I would of been knocking at your door to make me the same one lol . Truly amazing .:)
Yes, beautiful cake with the worst backdrop possible of those fussy curtains behind it.
everything should be completely edible on a cake.
Do you think the holly is plastic? It’s pastillage
During the interviews I would've chosen lady number 2 also but the end result was not good.
wow...@ first i thought the hollies & flowers were plastic but now knowing it was all edible makes it a really nice cake.
Her cake was beautiful
I can't help but think of that scene in the film 'Bride Wars' where Kate Hudson describes what cake she wants and the detail takes forever. 'I have to have the white chocolate torte with buttercream frosting enrobed in marzipan with edible pearls.' LOL
The cake is gorgeous
I love the cake♥️
Lovely cake, but maybe to big for 80 people
i think she should have used a white satin or silver satin cloth instead of a red cloth... knowing that all the decorations on the cake was edible made it a beautiful cake....at first i thought the decorations were plastic.
awesOme!!!!!!!!!!
and btw, what a cute couple !

this couple is so sweet
I like how all but one of Stewart's best men are bald, too.
lol, too cute. I love bald men. Something seemingly particularly virile about them ;)
That cake was big enough to feed a town
they got married on my birthday yaay
I think it is very pretty.
ha, ha the bride was drunk!i loved the third cake baker:-D
The last lady had an embarrassingly messy cake that could have been decorated by a 4 year old. I wouldn't show that sort of thing on TV.
Totally agree, gaps in the tiers, bubbling in the fondant....
Rachel Turnbull But it's cute but not for an 18 year old as 18 was written on top of the cake.
Unless you are talking about the cone shaped zoo cake I don't think I've seen it, I can find anymore episodes of this show apart from the one currently on this channel
Omg im a cake maker and i was cringing.
I think I would have cried when I walked in. :(
Totally agree with it ! the silver cloth would have made it way more prettier ! :)

The cake table had lit candles at the base which seemed dangerous with little kids around.
Way to Christmasy, I kind of wanted the last lady, she would make it unique
The first and second cake decorators describe their ideas as nearly being the same.
what year was this?
Tara LS 2011
yes
Damn they're really scraping the bottom of the barrel for cake designers...
ye how do i put it . . . its eh :I
The 3rd lady presented the simplest & 'boring' cakes of all for the one who claimed to be the bold one & has the unique taste/idea. Personally, I would prefer the 1st one but anyways the cake turns out fine.
The bride looks a little bit like Cameron Diaz when she was young
Let's see how many times we can say Lisa Notley in a minute!
The last lady has one embarassingly tacky cake and two boring, ugly ones and she goes on about how wacky her cakes are. Er..... no.
i am!!!!!!!!! lol im glad im not the only one!!!
What a plain jane cake.
The bride was drunk, haha.
The cake it's very pretty! But too much fake on it, the first baker was the best option imo.
Looks like a cake for a Christmas party rather then a wedding, it is nice however
The cake seemed entirely too large for the size of the wedding. I personally did NOT like the cake; although, I can appreciate the work that went into it.
i would of chosen the first lady
i felt like it's too chrismasy and not wintery
Not a fan of a Christmas themed wedding cake...hmmmm....
Omg.
*have
The third Cake maker was to me very bad...

The cake was lovely, but much too large. I hope it wasn’t thrown out.
what?
Mmxmxndmhkfkhdkfhfoejordkfdkdjfkdjofdk😂🫂
The first lady was quite creepy.
had to much of a christmas look. but it was pretty
2020: 5513
yummy! :P jk!
80 guests...thats enough for 500
How can. You make. A birthday was is a 30 birthday cake wot say. Happy birthday
I do not like the fake foliage on the cake. The cakes in the USA are all edible, even the ribbon around it. This one is not pretty at all.
I could have made a better cake!
i hate the cake ..the first lady would do a better cake i think
the second wan is so simple and ugly
and it is toooooooooo big and tall
omg... so disappointing
Hideous🙅🙅
OMG
