He's also using a bot to do his rotation. It's really obvious by how there's no mashing, the buttons are hit at the exact same intervals. So he's not even playing the game, just pressing W. I also love the little radar on the bottom right lmao

Uuhhhh Im not defending the dude but i dont mash my buttons i hit them softly and on time usually twice. I don't do Ultimates but do complete Savage tiers.
Ive been telling people that stuff like this exists forever but nobody seems to care or listen. People have even more advanced timers and stuff for the other 3 ultimates and all of Savage is braindead with the reaction and timelines. I know ive been using them to sell clears and make tens of thousands over the past years. Exact same as I botted 6 rogues in a dungeon in WoW Classic for a year straight made enough to buy a entire kitchen suit and remodel my entire house.
You can also buy a new account and have the bots take it through all of ARR-EW while only doing a few dungeons/trials then have it trust level all jobs to 90. Banning characters does nothing to stop this.

Problem is, when this stuff goes on unchecked, the general player base can begin to question all clears, legit or not and over time, it ruins the validity of the achievements of those who don't cheat. That is when a game is broken beyond repair.

the real problem is that if this sort of shit becomes okay in the eyes of the community at large, it becomes rude of you NOT to have the game effectively on auto-play because now you're the one wasting everyone else's time by making it harder to clear. And once it becomes all but mandatory to have these add-ons to clear high-end content, the developers are effectively forced to design raids assuming they're being used... and that's how you wind up in the death spiral than modern WoW's mythic+ raid scene finds itself stuck in.
it's not just about 'legitmacy', this kind of crap will legitimately effect the way the game is designed if left unchecked... and not in a good way.

There is going to be a breaking point sooner or later. Ffxiv might get closer and closer to scanning game files when you launch the game. Just to prevent 3rd party programs and mods. All because a select few. Sad really
Yeah, I'm expecting to see Easy Anti-Cheat; or something akin to that, next time I come back to the game(which idk when that will be). And honestly, I'm praying for it at this point. Vanilla XIV isn't that bad at all, sure I'll miss my ACT DPS Meter, but at this point idc anymore lol. But I do hope the Revamp to the UI(again) is good/customizable enough to settle the cries(since that's what people mostly complain about with XIV in the first place, or at least publicly and why they use Mods) just so the Devs can implement an Anti-Cheat software.
There is no anti-cheat against this. You are creating a scenario and then using it to validate your position that they just few of them and cause you real harm. These cheats and much worse existed since the start and there is no indication that Square Enix is ignorant on this issue. If something forces their hand, it will be a hysteria of the regular players that cannot be managed behind the scenes. Suddenly they have to make public bans and vague statements.
I guess I am trying to say that it does not matter whether you are right or not - you are pushing the community closer to the breaking point.

Players; like myself, are just tired of people publicly cheating like this, and wish the Devs would do more than just say: "Don't do that" because that's NOT gonna work. One thing is for sure. If you need these tools to get through the content, you should look for easier games. Idle games, for example. You don't really have to think about it and everything runs automatically.
Maybe they should play a game like World of Warcraft a game that designs fights around plugins and even encourages people to use plugins that play the game for them. oh wait they can't wow is fucking dead.

You can see his song/Bloodletter/Empyreal Arrow binds at the bottom of the screen, but the game isn't showing the usual "ripple" effect that appears when you press a keybind. But then at 7:49, you can see the ripple effect for the /broom emote keybind he's mashing lmao

Executing your rotation perfectly does not guarantee you a 100%. Heck, it may not even guarantee you a 99%, especially on buffing jobs like Bard.
@@davidth932 programming a perfect rotation to every fight is likely nearly impossible. It’s probably just a striking dummy base rotation which will just get you an average parse.
Bard has a good portion of their dps on raid buffs. Moreover parse is dependent on killtime. You can do more dps than the fastest clear by just having an extra burst phase

Let alone if they were doing it flawlessly that often you'd have MORE reason to be suspicious of them. You can tell pretty easily when someone's ACTUALLY a mentor, and who's a "mentor" and it has nothing to do with what crown they have just watch how they behave it's really THAT simple.

It's important to note that third party tools have always been against the rules, but the devs explained that trying to report people for using third party tools shouldn't be common practice because there's rarely a way to prove the player is using those tools unless there's clear in-game evidence (if you've ever witnessed botting behavior in-game, that's one of the only instances where you can catch pretty obvious cheating just by looking; but banning those players does little in the grand scheme of things because they just make a new account).
The devs explained that they cannot (and would not even if it were possible) scan every user's PC for third party tools which is really the only theortical way they might be able to catch cheaters. They also could implement a third party security software like Easy Anti-Cheat, which VR Chat just implemented, but I'm not really sure how that would work or if it would work against a third party tool used in FF14.
The definition of a third party tool also varies greatly. If a player uses a calculator in a duty involving math, by definition it's a third party tool, but does that player really deserve to be banned for sucking at math?
This is why within the community of people who use third party tools, talking about third party tools in the chat log is a big no-no, as is streaming while using third party tools. You put yourself at serious risk by doing so. People misunderstood the devs' message about third party tools, or they listened to heresay from others who were blabbing on social media about "Third party tools are allowed!" No. They're not. They never have been. But it's also not something that devs are concerned about. At least, they weren't.
However, after the incident with the team who were the first to beat DSR using third party tools, now they're a bit more attentive to the issue, therefore the whole "crackdown on cheaters" that still seems to hover in the community headlines. At this point, this streamer is just an idiot who thinks they're being sneaky. The names are all hidden, there's no server info to be seen. They know what they're doing, and they're willing to put their account at risk to garner views/attention.
Theres Enough Info On Screen to figure out what group it was, Time (Local and Server) First and last Name Letters and Class comp. These guys are gonna be in GM Jail for Quite some time by now.
it's actually illegal in Japan to scan others PCs, that was what Yoshi said atleast, so they literally can't do it.
also if you think easy anti cheat does anything, please, educate yourself on every game where easy anti cheat got added and how easy it was to defeat.
the most prominent cases would be Apex Legends, which features Easy Anti Cheat, yet it has more than enough cheaters. (even cheaters who keep doing it and are even known amongst the pro player base since this person can literally invade any lobby they want and even talk to other teams, which is normally impossible)
the other would be Elden Ring, where Easy Anti Cheat was so bad for the game that it got legit players banned due to an cheat people were using that placed an unobtainable item into players inventory, which easy anti cheat saw as them also cheating. (was the panties of 1 of the NPCs, kinda funny, the only real way to be safe was to delete your entire game including saves and start from scratch.
The thing is, they honestly could make exceptions for some 3rd party tools, classify each under certain categories, i get they don't have the manpower or the will to check every 3rd party plugin, totally understandable.
but they could word it so easy that it would leave no room for questions.
for example "UI mods that tell you the party members buff timers, make the CD timers bigger or tell you howmuch HP the monster has is allowed, mods or plugins that tell you an mechanic ahead of time or show you where an AOE will be dropped is not" (obviously they can word it much better)
because now it kinda feels like "we banned you, but thanks for the plugin though"

Imagine Raid needs you to score 100 points to clear them.
Normally through repetition, remembering the attack pattern, and good teamworks would be enough to score 100 and clear the Raid.
The cheats the guys use has already gave them the 100 score. But unfortunately their Minus IQ keep them from clearing it
People just love pushing the envelope, and its going to ruin things for everyone that maybe just wanted some retextures for UI or make cool house designs. Things like this is what gets what little freedom you have with mods taken away and indiscriminate ban waves rolled out.
Let's be real damage monitoring, parsing, housing stuff, modifying game files for pretty textures, the second life style mods, this DBM style thing, even zooming out further than the console claustrophobic zoom, all of it are on the same level according to SE. There is no freedom with mods
This kind of shit is exactly why I don't like raiding anymore. I used to think I was actually decent at the game because I clicked all my buttons, learned the fights by heart, and worked my ass off to try to achieve top tier parses while being an effective and reliable raid team member. And then there's this shit, completely invalidating all that hard work. One of my ultimate statics fell apart because we learned one of the members was using very similar mods. I was so mad at this dude because I raided with him for literal years and never knew. I just thought he was actually that good at the game. I worked my ass off while he just turned on a few bots and we came out around the same performance levels. I spent hours studying fights (some of which were your videos, actually. Thanks again for the Kefka guide, lmao) and dudes like this just "beat" everything by letting a bot do all the work. Makes my DRK clears feel hollow and pointless, you know?
Imo you still did some damn impressive stuff, learning the fights and doing them the right way. Don't let one idiot take that away from you. You still achived something.
So sad that others don't understand what it means. Of course other people cheating in a game like this directly affects you if you play to have high standards for yourself even if you don't have super duper high parses it is still impressive to be able to clear many savage fights and these ultimates are the next level of mechanical fight design in this game. Its just like fighting games. It completely diminishes a lot of desire to be good and improve, go after big titles, other such prestigious ranks/winning tournaments/etc, if you discover that others have done the same thing by cheating. It really makes you wonder if there's truly still any value in your hard work and effort.
I don't even understand whats so hard about it which is what the worst part is. None of them (cheaters, people who say "it doesn't matter") understand what it is to go after the highest satisfaction of skill and victory in a video game. When you treat your hobby seriously and find great enjoyment at going as hard as possible in games, there's nothing like it.
If it weren't for the fact their whole rotation was likely automated as well, this is close to being the allowed addons that are in every day use in WoW.

I get there are cosmetic / non-influencing mods but obviously as others said this is most similar to WoW WeakAuras but with massive enhancement. Obviously way beyond anything allowed in XIV, they deserve their ban.
graphical mods are one thing... they dont affect the game itself any more than Gshade does. But botted rotations and a minimap radar that literally shows you what the next attack is going to look like exactly? Thats cheating plain and simple.
Cosmetic mods used by people affect the game for you absolutely in the same way as ultimate helpers affect the game for you.

@@H0ttabych Actually true. If you wanted to you could mod the graphics out as much as possible to lose visual clutter to the lowest feasible. While most people don't wnat to play that way it can be an advantage.
@@Krescentwolf Graphical mods CAN effect the game a lot actually the trick is more what is the mod itself for and what does it do. He's got animation mods on to see effects are still happening but altered to not blind himself instead of just using the game's filtering or looking at buff bars to check it himself. The graphical mods he's using are doing more problematic stuff then you think. Now I get why some folks use them on like their character for say a hairstyle or something those are harmless, but attack animations is still harmful unless it is explicitly for use with some type of visual problem be it colorblindness or others. Especially given they are still not doing enough for such players despite getting complaints about it. They're slowly, VERY slowly trying to help those users but again as I see it the ones he's using aren't for that and I can tell what they're for since I've watched others use them for exactly what I mentioned above, it's to be lazy and not have to spend the brief moment it takes to look on a buff bar for the other tells when you reduce animations.
After noticing the massive influx of ultimate weapons as opposed to before all these mods were popularize it's insane! There has to be a lot of players using cheats to get these.
A few days after the world first ThordanU clear, I'd see someone in my Crystal Conflict DF team with one of those weapons as often as not. The fact that the fight went from unbeaten to proliferately conquered in a few dozen hours smells like a world of cheating, furthering what foul play was going on in ranked PvP.
I will say that I see FAR fewer strings of perfectly spaced CC or LBs and the lack of 10k credit ELOs makes today a somewhat less unfair time to play. They've cracked down on a little of the cheating.
I'd say it's more buying clears than cheating if it's that soon after world first. Even with all the extra help on your screen you still gotta do mechanics and I doubt most people would be able to clear it that fast even with cheats.

I can get someone whose never played XIV before to clear ZodiarkEX as Dorito 99 times for me and parse 99-100% everytime on almost any class without ever dying. E8S? Custom mini map that shows you excatly where you need to stand, zoom hack and a bot that does the rotation for you. I just wonder whats point in clearing it at that point like he is no longer playing the same game. All he can really do is run around and pretend that has achived something.
The texture mods I have *no issue with* in and of itself. But the shit that shows the aoes? Yeah, *that* is cheating and should never happen. Numbers on the buffs/debuffs I also have no issue with, those are things [being able to adjust the size of your buff timers/etc] that should be available vanilla.
It sucks that literal CHEATS like this ruin modding for everyone. I think it's kinda dumb I can't stream with any UI plugins or ACT.
I went onto twitch and looked at 4 DSR streams. Of them, all 4 were using third party programs, 2 were relatively harmless UI mods, 2 of them gave clear ingame advantages including the zoom hack seen here (though not so exaggeratedly zoomed out). Its really depressing to see how easy it is to find cheaters on twitch.
I remember it causing a stir when World First was achieved, but the official media teams didn't want to announce it because the modding was blatantly obvious, and against ToS.
This is what happens when a WoW Addon Addict plays FFXIV, dude cannot play without the extreme hand holding the addons give him.
This isn't even handholding, there were multiple bots running you can tell the way the button were "hit" so to speak. Person wasn't even actually playing the game, was at most watching.

idk but when I’m progging and looking for a clear on ultimates or any other fights, I feel like I’m here because of the fight, and not trying to seek attention because I have some legend title, I personally will not feel fulfilled and felt the title is useless if I bought a clear or using some cheats like these.
@Bunlieve Its not just cheating. I feel that buying runs also cheapens it... but at least with people that buy runs you can tell. Private logs or they have that random single clear of TEA with a 90 parse, but their only other records is a 5 on P1S or something.

Yeah the thing is in wow it's legal and fights are tuned for add-on usage but in ff they are not so here its extremely unfair.
As someone who plays both games I get UI mods like health bars and buff trackers because the FF ui is garbage but all of this stuff is crazy.

I know it's an old video and this is a late comment... But... You know... This was also the reaction that we had in World of Warcraft back in the earliest days of addons. A lot of people frowned upon them and thought they were cheating. Addons kinda engrained itself in the community by advent of the community itself slowly but surely warming up to them until they became mandatory... And honestly... Were they not BANNABLE in XIV... I do think we'd be seeing the same... Look at how many parties openly use automarkers in party finder. I see more and more people in XIV talking about using addons by the day when chatting outside the game (discord). Square might need to crack on them much harder and not only in big thigs like the TOP cheat but pretty much everywhere, if they intend to keep addons as a dark corners hidden things.
Back when I played WoW, I exclusively PvPed because "dragon slaying" just didn't seem fun to me. Well when the PvP went to shit in WoD and Mythic + got introduced in Legion, I was like hey, M+ is PvE but its speedrunning which is challenging. Then I tried Mythic raiding in BFA. It just was zero fun, because WeakAuras became this huge thing, and every mechanic that was even remotely difficult, someone had a WeakAura for that, to tell you exactly what to do, and where to go, and you never have to remember anything because this message pops up telling you that this mechanic is happening and that you need to move, or you need to go somewhere else, or you need to kick this ability, or blah blah.
I came to FF14 on a whim just looking for an MMO to play, I had zero intention of getting invested in it. But when I found out that Raiding is supposed to be done Raw no addons and the difficulty comes from the inherent challenge of not having something that tells you exactly when something is going to happen, having to remember when things happen based on feedback from the game. It made a lot more sense to me.

pisses in the eyes of everybody who has ever taken the time to learn mechanics and do their rotations correctly studying the balance discord front to back, does make me extremely disheartened to know people are playing like this, why even bother working towards a goal others are practically handed because they cheat to get everything

I am sorry to say that cheating happens no matter if it is streamed. In fact it happens more behind the scenes as people do not stream cheating. Look inside and enjoy the game without needing to rely on other games being worse. Imagine loving your wife because your ex was worse and how it will end :)

I just can't imagine playing FFXIV like this. Half the fun is learning the fight and fucking up repeatedly. Though the Yaoi Paddle mod IS peak comedy.

Bird's eye would be an interesting feature, I'm not sure if it would change how ff encounter design works.
I DO know that they design current encounters to be manageable with their current camera, as they do for reaction times etc. They always give you what you need and maybe a bit of extra slack depending on difficulty.
@@vaan_ I mean, spinning your camera in FF can be painful since the camera is so slow (compared to other MMO's) but the stuff you're talking about is more of a chore than a challenge; if improving the camera's responsiveness and zoom distance would encourage the devs to come up with something aside from "stick odd mechanic indicator up high on the outside of the arena" I think this would be a win for everyone.

Second camera feel is subjective, coming from playing swtor/wow/gw2 I feel that the camera in FF14 is sluggish and the zoom/fov is constrained; in both SWTOR and WOW I actually have my rotation speed set below max because the camera is so sensitive/fast, in FF I have it pegged to max. You may disagree with my opinion on the camera in FF and that's fine, I don't know of a way to objectively measure something of this nature and I doubt it's worth pursuing to have an internet debate with someone on RUclips.
Third, I call it a chore precisely because I don't think it is challenging, when an experienced player dies to something of this nature I tend to categorize in the same vein as your sprint not going off, or letting your food buff expire and dying to a raid wide; an embarrassing mistake but one that has happened to everyone who has played long enough.
Once again, I want to emphasize that we are talking about something that is highly subjective and that I personally would prefer to be able to zoom out more and to have a more responsive camera; in turn I think this change would encourage them to alter how they design mechanics and would promote something different in future content (which may be better or worse, but at least it would be something new).
I hope these guys get a permanent ban

This is giving me weak auras vibes from wow. It just tells you want to do no thinking involved.
Its worse, the rotation was being done by a bot, you can tell by the way everything lit up.

Tbf weak auras do a lot of different things. I have weak auras for example for one purpose - fixing my important buffs in one place on my screen rather than the buff bar, since it impacts my rotation slightly and makes my UI look cooler lol. Of course a lot of weak auras do much more cringe stuff particularly in pvp.

The only thing left to do in the game for me was raiding Savages and Ultimates. When I came to know this is what was happening, I just left the game and haven't been back since. Not going to have my effort invalidated or even risk playing with an actual subhuman who is a cheater.

Seeing as you can already see that you don't need a plugin for it, let alone you could use macros for it. I have a line in my swiftcast rez that just beeps and gives me an echo saying when I can swiftcast again. I have to laugh that people think they need plugins to achieve a lot of the things they use them for when the game already enables it if you just learn how to ACTUALLY use said systems.

@@mosley3485 they'll never officially support plugins/mods because of the amount of adult stuff there are. It would get them in trouble and force them to change their rating to M. Supporting the use of one mod means supporting the use of ALL mods.
@@mosley3485 yeah thats the thing they're never going to impose things like EAC or other monitoring software because they respect players' privacy. Like I said, if they openly say that they're okay with mods then they have to greenlight ALL mods and that gets packaged in with the game's image. Kinda like how Skyrim/Fallout is more known for their mods than their vanilla form and its already rated M so it didn't affect the game as much.

The thing about these kind of addons is, he's not even playing the game at this point.
Even with other addons like XIV Combo or something like that, you still need to know your rotations, know the mechanics, and execute them all perfectly. This guy isn't even PRESSING BUTTONS cuz he's rotation botting. Like what satisfaction do people get out of this? "Hey look at this shiny weapon I got that I literally didn't work at all for!"? Like you could set up a Sprout with all this stuff, they could've been playing the game for two days, but with this much handholding I guarantee they could clear Savage content at the least

Pfft even WoW hasn't had the "player detector" circle to never fail spread mechanics for 6 years now. WoW may have some "powerful" tools available, but even Blizzard puts the hammer down on things that are "too far".
@@amethonys2798 Barely though. I had never raided before and Weak Auras basically told me how to do every single mechanic in my first raid in legion and I was the #1 dps of the group because of it. Made focusing on rotation easy AF
It's super subtle, but he's also got an auto targeting bot that uses his abilities on the primary target that other people in his group are attacking, through the target of target system. - so he never needs to target anything, and he'll always auto hit the group's main target.

The problem when addons are allowed it becomes a arms race. Addon trivalizes raid encounter. Then devs have crank up difficulty and design new raid encounter assume everyone is already using said addon. Then people make new addon to trivilize fight again.
So if you happen to be in the addon bubble its fine, but it becomes unplayable for those who choose not to use. Statics often won't even invite you if you don't meet the checklist of required addons.

Add-ons just adds to that mess in HC...shame people are just so lazy they resort to such things, not even disabled players go this far...it's a slap to the face of everyone to do such things.

The stuff with the mini map is at the level of addons in wow that got banned in wow and had to be patched out by the devs. This is beyond what wow addons do in that regard.

To everyone begging for bans.. People know about these exploits now thanks to streamers covering the issue, and you can bet more people are using these plugins as a result. FFXIV doesn't even have a proper anti-cheat, and will never detect this and people only continue using it silently.

anti-cheat doesn't do anything but keep the innocent players who use the least harmful plugins (UI plugins for example, like different color for different damage types, or that you can see the party buff/debuff timers)
people who want to use this will get around any anti cheat, people are asking for easy anti cheat, i don't trust that shit in an MMO setting, it already went haywire on Elden Ring where it would ban legit players because an cheater used an cheated ability to place an unobtainable item into the victims inventory.

I know a dude on Balmung who buys all his gil and clears a lot of content. Pretty convinced he is cheating during raids, etc. He's also a narcissist and has to be the best all the time. Too bad these kinds of people don't realize you aren't the best when you have to cheat to be successful. Sure you may get gear and clear content but if those mods ever stop working, good luck with your Satasha level skills.

Reminds me of some folks I know in FFXI, as I always put it "Shiny gear doesn't mean anything if it's being used by an idiot." and it really is true unless you know how to use your shiny stuff you CAN'T call yourself good because 1. you don't know how to actually do it, 2. you never earned it you just cheated or got carried or w/e to get it. It shows no proof of competency.
