Once you play for a long while and get to know the guitar as an extension of yourself, you begin to learn harder songs much faster. It all comes down to mastering the basics, then the rest falls into place. I say this because I too, have begun to learn songs faster, songs that seemed impossible before :)
It sounds to me like the playing's 99% there, a damn good effort, only differences are cosmetic - i.e Of course his guitar's not going to sound exactly like Tremonti's studio version, there are... Important differences. However, if I heard that much accuracy from some playing it live with the right pedals & gear behind, I'd dig the hell out of it, and it's great to see through Rocksmith just how hard these songs can be. How the hell does anyone stretch from the 5th fret to the 10th fret?? 1:08 What am I supposed to be?...an octopus?? So much for learning THIS song on guitar. My DNA is all wrong...got too much of that human genome in me.
Metalingus is surprising, but Come To Life is in a wierd tuning, it's Eb standard with the Eb tuned to a Bb. They just recently put in a song that tuned down to a B tuning, so maybe in the future?
idk if its different in the game or because of your guitar but I know that tuning is not correct nor the tabs possibly bacuse you might be in a different tuning? or is that the how the game said to play it. Not meaning to sound like a dochebag just concerned if I spen money on this game and it might have a few problems with it?

Tom Johnson It's not all him, the version Rocksmith has doesn't follow the song note for note entirely. And I did say keep trying too, with a little more work he'll have it down for sure.
