I grew up in Taiwan listening to this song sung by all kinds of singers .I have to confess Sung has to be the best. There is soprano part in this song and most singers just do not have the pitch. The voice twist part is also great !

She is now a lieutenant general in Chinese navy ! What a girl ! Hey, there is nothing wrong with being a communist.

That's what I call a grand performance. Song Zhuying is great and the dancers are terrific. Excellent choreography. The stage backdrop is splendid. The Alisan tribe traditional song is an evergreen. I like the tribal costumes that match the song.
This is a beautiful song no matter who sings it. Music not unlike science and technology has no boundary. One appreciates 欣賞 and enjoys a beautiful song.
True, but Song Zuying brings this song to life... she sings the best.... what makes it it even better is the dancers... Song Zuying always likes to include her ethnic culture of Miao or other related ethnic groups into her stage performance .... love her
Wonderful! China has some of the best shows in the world. The 2008 Olympics will never be matched, for example. But even these shows on youtube are incredible. The singers and dancers are excellent. The sets and direction are so impressive.

@@雷琦琴這首歌曲原本並不是台灣民謠。它是電影「阿里山風雲」的主題曲。1949年5月由張徹導演，女主角不聞經傳，大慨是初出茅蘆的演員吧。拍攝期間，張導演覺得，女主角在山間邊走邊哼著小曲就最好不過。彼時國、共並未停戰，老闆怎会出資，為小製作特別作曲填詞，再禮聘像姚莉一样的紅歌星幕後代唱。但張導演不想放棄，於是便跟助手一起合作，創作出了「高山青」一曲。
電影於1950年上畫，只可惜戰亂剛休，人心未定之際，老百姓跟本沒心情看戲；最後，電影亦不聞經傳，再也無人提起。
到了六十年代末，鄧麗君翻唱「高山青」，沒想到歌曲竟然紅遍全台灣，成了台灣著名的民謠。當時除了中國大陸之外，全球华人無人不識此曲，大家均啷啷上口，亦不会深究它的出處，只認定它是阿里山民謠。
