- On November 19th, Mrs. FFV accompanied me to Ashland to attend the Light Up The Tracks kickoff; the start of Ashland's holiday lights season. While all of my capture of this year's illumination was in still photos, it's just not cricket if I visit the Center Of The Universe without recording the passage of at least one train in video.
0:00 - CSX I031
Full circle - well, almost. When I started railfanning the RF&P in 2008, Q741 carried intermodal traffic along with the Tropicana empties returning to Florida. The Tropicana cars were later shifted to a succession of manifests and now have arrived back at traveling in an intermodal consist again, as illustrated by I031. Motive power was in the distributed arrangement preferred in the present day - ET44AH 3283 on point, ES44AH 3031 tucked in further back.
4:48 - Amtrak 92, Silver Star
P42s 139 and 204 led the Silver Star northward minutes later, close but not enough to keep the camera rolling after I031's last car was past. With the Silver Star and Silver Meteor returning to pre-pandemic service levels, the consist has returned to normal.
5:28 - Northeast Regional 158
The low winter sun belied an early quit to video recording as Northeast Regional 158 conducted business at the station before resuming its journey, led by P42 131.

Awesome catches FFV! I also chased CSX B770-21 form St. Denis to Washington Grove & it had a BNSF & KCS SD70ACe trailing.
very nice Thank you
Great catches FFV! Love the Tropicana up front on the first train you caught! Ashland looks amazing and love how you have the station in your view.
Thanks! It's good to see the Tropicana back on something other than Q300/301. Now if they could just bring back Q740 again...
Magnífico...saudações do Brasil!
Hello, and thanks for watching!
Very nice!
Thanks! I recall there were some Amtrak delays in the north and few if any freights on the radar, which probably contributed to me putting the camcorder away early more than anything else.
Nice catches
Hi Dave, may I use any of your footage for a documentary if I credit you?
As long as you give me credit, that's fine.
