Freedom Beach in Phuket Hidden Beach Near Patong
Freedom Beach in Phuket is a 300-metre-long strip of white sand near Patong. The beach is set in a superb bay dotted with granite rocks and surrounded by hills covered by a thick jungle. Its exclusivity comes from its rather challenging accessibility, but it's well worth the effort.
The best time to visit Freedom Beach is undoubtedly during the high season, from November to April. The beach is open all year round but boats only operate during the high season. Freedom is a breathtaking beach with crystal clear waters, white soft sand, and great swimming and snorkeling conditions. This is why Freedom Beach is rated as the most beautiful beach in Phuket.
How to get to Freedom Beach
There are two ways to get to Freedom Beach. The first way is to go by car, taxi, motorcycle heading from Patong Beach to Tri Trang Beach. When you see the Avista Hideaway sign, turn left and go straight to the Freedom Beach car park. Then pay a fee of 100 baht per person to walk down to the beach.
The second way is to go by boat. The easiest and probably the safest way to get to Freedom is to hire a long-tail boat.
Long-tail boats are available from the southern end of Patong, just near the pier. Depending on the number of people expect to pay around 1,200 to 1,500 baht per boat for the return journey.
