@@DamoDrives , the sedan. I was in doubt because i like the hatchback as well. I don't need the space of the sedan but it rally makes me hot. Here in Holland i think the Sedan will be the less popular but i don't care
Difficult choice but I went for the Excel in black. I think it will go well with the privacy windows in the back and the chrome trim that comes with the Excel. Won't be ready until the end of April though. Apparently they have white and silver ones ready to go but I'd rather wait for a better colour.
You might as while wait to get what you want as it’s new and it’s not very long to wait. The 300 miles I did over the 2 days gave me a good idea of what the car is like and longer runs will be comfortable
Thank you and glad you enjoyed the video. Good choice of car and certainly would be interested to know how much better the performance is on the 2.0 litre
15:15 That is wrong, the 2.0L does not have a "real" first gear, that is exclusive to the non hybrid version. The 2L hybrid still has a similiar eCVT to the 1.8l hybrid CVT=/=eCVT.
I have the old Corolla hatchback, and didn't get the Auris even though everyone said it's the new Corolla, I wasn't buying it, the placement of the gear stick for one put me right off among other things. Been waiting for the Corolla to return, but I'm quite disappointed. Looks great from the front (could get rid of that two tone colour though, makes it look like an aygo). But the good thing about the old Corolla was that it looked small but it was deceptively spacious. The new Corolla boot looks tiny! The seats look bulky- taking up way too much space. It's almost like this is trying to compete with the sporty hatchback, which is something the Corolla never was. It's kind of sad that Toyota brought this back and took a lot of the practically (which made it the world's best selling model) out of it.
When I was researching the car and reading interviews with the engineers the hatch version was designed for a 2 person family and if you did need more room you would get the estate version. Toyota I think are trying to change there image in being more fun (reviewed the GT86 at the weekend and that was an experience in the rain) I might be wrong but I thought the Auris was a British thing as the rest of the world still had the corolla. Guessing you are not putting a deposit down 😂
Hi. Great video . I’m considering buying this car but a bit worried that it might be a bit small . We have a 5 year old child . Also budget is tight and we are going for the 1.8. We just want a comfortable car that both me and my wife can drive, it’s going to be car that we are going to share . .
You could look at the Suzuki Swace (this is a rebadged version of the Corolla estate and a little bit cheaper than the Toyota) which I have reviewed ruclips.net/video/VyItqzbCvjY/видео.html or maybe looking at 1 of the other Suzuki vehicles as it could save quite a lot of money. I have not reviewed every alternative but a bit of food for thought as Suzuki seems to go a bit under the radar (vitara is a good size family car ruclips.net/video/XIzXlVabgNQ/видео.html) hope some of this helps
Thanks for the comment and although it looks dirty I did wash it. Cleaned up the dealership on the Saturday as well. It was raining throughout the weekend and a lot of salt and dirt from the road (was actually out at 7am before sunrise thing to get it looking nice) hopefully in the summer I can have some clean cars on camera 😂😂
15:00 you have no idea what are you talking about. You just saw some US reviews but they have different powertrain options (e.g. 2.0 non-hybrid), so on EU market you won't see any CVT-with-launch-gear. Only conventional CVT with 1.2T and eCVT in both of hybrids.
There is very little information about the different powertrains coming out and the Toyota website does not say so you do have to go with the information that is out they. I try and do as much research as possible but it is very difficult to get every fact right so maybe there is the odd fact that might be wrong and happy to be corrected and learn new things as they are so many fans and experts out there. I hope it did not detract from the overall video
If I get the chance to make a quick video on another spec I will try. Unfortunately with reviews dealerships will give you the cars they want you to review 😊 hope you enjoyed this video though
0:17 Why? Why would I do this? You think that if this is the first video from your channel that I'm watching and before I'm even 20 seconds in, without having seen anything, you ask me to consider to subscribe to your channel and I'd just do it? By what reason?
It’s just so it’s in your mind that you could subscribe at some point in the video if you enjoyed the content. Most people never make it too the end of a video so if you mention it at the end people will probably not see it. I am sorry if you took that offensively and it did not detract from the overall video
@@DamoDrives I'm not offended, it's just a terribly placed "reminder" in my opinion, at least in the way it's done. "If you haven't been to this channel" can't be a reason to subscribe to it.
Any feedback is great as I want to grow an audience that wants to come back, enjoys the videos and wants to feel involved. In your opinion do you feel it’s even worth mentioning the subscribe thing at the start or just do it at the end
@@DamoDrives Well if you feel that doing it at the end isn't reaching enough people, then the beginning it is. But it should be in preparation of the video. Like "I'm gonna be showing you around this Toyota Corolla, and if you enjoy that, please consider subscribing" or something like that. Just my personal opinion and you should probably not throw everything over just because of one guy's opinion.
Impressive car and think it looks really good. This was the less powerful version but was still fun to drive, it’s not hot hatch fun but for a daily car it would be great. Like I mentioned in the video I would certainly have the 2.0 litre. I think Toyota realised there mistakes and have sorted it out. Looking forward to trying some of there other models as well over the coming month (RAV4 very soon and a GT86 this weekend)
I would have liked to try the 2.0 to see the difference but testing either model provides a good idea of what the car is like and hopefully gives you an idea of what the car is actually like. Have a POV driving video on Tuesday 5th of the car which gives a different insight into the car, if you have subscribed you will get alerted when it is out,
90% sure none of the hybrids have GPFs. I test drove the Corolla a week ago and the engine doesn't stay on long enough for it to be able to ever regenerate. Even at higher speeds on the dual carriageway, once you start cruising, the engine will cut out when it's not needed
That’s very true, if it’s like a lot of manufactures you get 5 years on battery’s. Finance and get a new 1 in 3 years with hybrid might be a good idea but I’m not financial advisor
There are holes to close the trunk which you clearly didnt see.... and: did you go jogging before? Your heavy breathing is very annoying... useless review
It’s always good to learn new things and that’s the great thing about getting feedback. Obviously not everyone will enjoy what others do maybe presenting style , facts missing but not sure the majority of people or the dealership think it was useless
Simple question would you have bought the old Corolla and would you buy the 2019 version
Possibly , certainly the best corolla I seen
I have bought this car. I hope to get it in the frist week op april.
Good choice 👍, which model did you go for

Nice looking car, good vid as well mate
It’s not just better than the old car but good compared to any car in this segment.

Great review 😊 I didn’t know you did two reviews of the Rolla.
I’m really pleased you enjoyed it, trying to do 2 reviews from a different perspective I think can be fun and especially if you like the car 😊
Good video and good comments at the very end. I also found the 1.8 litre a little lacking in oomff so bought the 2 litre!
Thank you and glad you enjoyed the video. Good choice of car and certainly would be interested to know how much better the performance is on the 2.0 litre
@@DamoDrives I did test drive the 2L hybrid touring sports. The engine is on another league in terms of power, the eCVT is still an aquired taste tho

Imho, the real successor of the Corolla E12!
It is so different from any other corolla in terms of style
Don't forget about the JDM E160, pretty much the most direct continuation of the E120.
Was that the Japan only model ?
