Kyle, you killed it! Mr Gee, you killed it, too! Abuelo Lou…you too! Man… i’m so proud of what’s going on here at the EVLC. Thanks for covering us, Kyle.
Great video. Teachers like Me G got me interested in science and engineering. I do think you give the average person too much credit. I don’t think the vast majority of people know anything more about their car than maybe how many cylinders it has. They literally have no idea how it works. They don’t know what a differential does they don’t know why the car runs. Electric car people tend to know even less. But hopefully with this kind of educational content that will change.
This is what I wanna see. I love watching your stuff, and I know the basics, but when you start talking in detail about the megapacks, how it relates to charging rates, etc… right over my head 😅 Would love to watch a video of you dumbing it down for people like me to get a better understanding of charging and EV’s as a whole.
So true, Kyle. I completely agree that we should've been teaching this stuff 10-15 years ago! Now it looks like we have some people/places that can do that for something much needed. I've yet to visit EV West, but now it's a must with the EVLC in the same lot!!
Thank you Kyle, Don't forget to visit them on the 17th of August. I have a question, Will they teach foreign students via Zoom? If yes I love to enroll.
Hi Kyle, can You look into a way that stranded (dead Batterie) EV's can be charged from EV to EV! It might help out in the Future when more EV's will be on the Road, so someone can get quick Help on the Road with a burst of KW's from another EV that passes by. To reach the next Charging Station. Thanks. HF.
One has to stop before it goes completely dead. Then get the tow truck or your friend to pull the nearly dead battery vehicle along for a couple of miles. With regeneration one soon has the battery recharged enough to drive on to the charging station.
Yes, we have the ability to flat tow the car. In our case, we can do it in 4th gear and regenerate some life back into the pack. Also I carry a 3.6 kW EcoFlow power bank, which can give about 9 miles of range to this weight vehicle. This is a good example of the difference in energy density between a gallon of petrol and a pound of lithium iron phosphate battery. The Eco Flo weighs about 100 pounds, and gives 9 miles of range in a VW bus, or about as much as a half a gallon of petrol, or about3 pounds.
EVs are way simpler to work on / build than traditional ICE vehicles at this scale using off-the-shelf components, but attention to safety is much more important.
It is reported that the show is being reconstructed and will return in mid August. I for one believed the show was starting to lack constructive facts and worthy news! More assumptions then facts which create rumors!
Similar to how he thinks we only need charge plugs on highways because nobody has to work so we can all drive across the country on a whim. Perks of the wealthy.
We at @evlc are not insulted by this at all. We call it the "Grandma Car". It was donated to us by someone who gave up on the project. It doesn't run well because as it is geared it runs out of RPM at around 45 mph. If you love the Chevy Aveo please come volunteer with us and make it suck at least 10% less!
Why would you convert a small chevy ? Because it is easy to drive in crowded cities like San Diego. And probably was cheap to buy. Kyle you need to learn and understand that not everyone has your money to go top of the line on everything. Cant you ever think before making negative comments about cars , towns and charging networks . Your dad does the same thing.
The dude has gotten really arrogant and classist. Those characteristics didn't seem to be in his videos a couple years ago, but it's making his videos harder to watch now days.
Mr G has so much energy, he could have jogged in from Jersey that morning.

There are two types of people in the world.
1) Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.
Great T-shirt 🤩
I’ll bet this guy is remembered by ALL his high school students. Nobody forgets Mr. G. Teachers are amazing man.
Mr. G! You're the best! "Failure is a chance to learn" You rock! - teaching people EV conversions. Woohoo!
Thanks your for your support of EVLC Kyle. We need people like you to get the word out to help us with our mission!
4:56 - With Mr. G, we may have someone who is more enthused about EV technology than even Kyle! 😆
Would love to see one of these in CO!
Like Lou's t-shirt.
That guy has so much energy! Great video
Best ev video you've done yet Kyle bravo! 👍🏻
I just need this in the Seattle area.

Thanks for sharing this Kyle! I think this is something great for me and my kids to do next summer.
As someone trying to break into the EV industry with professional experience outside of legacy automotive, i find this so amazing!
This is the best
It would be great to see an online resource too, not everyone can make it to San Diego.
This is what I wanna see.

What a find! Thanks for the video. ❤
Thanks for letting me know about them. Im going to reach out for training or volunteering.
This is where you want to send your kids to so they may get ahead of the curve.
I hope you did a EV West interview/tour while you were in the area.

They should also teach where they get the equipment to do the job. Like the lift for the six pack battery.
Had a great time at the EVLC EV Fiesta September 9th 2023. Hope to get my conversion “done” for the next one December 9th…
Awesome video Kyle
That is an awesome school!!
Kyle is there a east coast ver of this type of school.. (indian trail nc)

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is next for us.
Fantastic
I haven't heard any more about the road trip to Northern Norway. Cancelled?
I bet Zack from Jerry Rig Everything would love a tour of this place. He converted his own electric Hummer after all.

All stored energy will one day be exportable. As for now…we have to jury rig it.

wish they have a branch in LA
Hey does anyone know what happened to the Inside EVs Podcast?
It is reported that the show is being reconstructed and will return in mid August. I for one believed the show was starting to lack constructive facts and worthy news! More assumptions then facts which create rumors!
No more Caffein for Mr G!
pretty awesome
Look at that neck sunburn from tesla takeover 😂😂
Awesome and in San Marcos. Teacher needs a RUclips channel.
this dude is in full teacher mode
Love the enthusiasm.
Oh, my.
Those Brazilian buses are a weird combination of old/new stuff.
"why you would convert something this terrible, i don’t know" 💀 🤪
Super rude to call someone's car terrible like that. There's no need to insult something someone obviously cares about it enough to convert it to EV.
I agree , kyle does that all the time. Especially on road trips about were people live or motels that are below his 150 a night level.

Are the students provided with the same drugs Mr Gee is on?

I like electric vehicles, but I don’t like the way certain politicians are trying to force them on us too quickly.
