We have rainforests, but the entire island isn’t a rainforest. There’s even a dry forest in Guanica
Some recommendations spot on. However, others were exaggerated. PR does accept credit cards pretty much everywhere and ATM machines are all over the island. It’s always wise to carry some cash for tipping, etc. when traveling. The likelihood of you bringing a disease is much higher, so yes do get vaccinated for everything so you don’t bring a disease to the people living there. I live in the states and in the Summer the mosquitoes are vicious, so this is not unique to the island. I’ve actually never been bitten by a mosquito when staying at hotels by the beaches there since there’s so much wind. I find PR to be quite safe especially in all tourist areas and whenever I travel around the island. Be smart about where you go, park, etc. Same as anywhere you travel. If you’re staying in San Juan, walk, take Uber, or Taxi. There’s no need to rent a car, unless you’re traveling outside of San Juan (which I actually do highly recommend).

we do accept credit cards for transactions, we are not in the 19 century. And there's is not reckless driving. Tips, we do give tips in restaurants, because many employees in restaurants depends on tips, not because is a sing of good gratitude. The Yunque part, it have happen before, but is very rare that happens. Vaccines you sound like we live in a third world my friend, been a US territory with federal laws in the island, don't you think we must have a source of mass population vaccination plan? Second, crime rate Puerto Rico is a place of violent crimes, but many of those crime are between gangs war, armed robberies happens, to visitors, if they step in a non tourist places, and not only visitors locals as well can get rob. But you make it sound, like if we see jewelery or gadgets we will rob you; as I remember We can afford them. And yes, the dishes you mentioned at the end are one of the tops dishes here.
Souvenirs, try to get them outside of tourist places. Vendors are the real thieves with their prices 🤣

This video is highly reliable. Other points to mention, the streets of Old San Juan are narrow since they were built to transport wagons around 500 years ago, also, most of the streets are one way and a small car is engouraged along with great driving skills. EL Yunque is the only US National Rainforest, Attention to Rain and Forest and Hilly. It has very good trails well identified by markers all around the place, a map of the forest is a must-have like any other national park. If you venture out of the trails (some tourists and local people do) could get lost in wonder. Since is a Tropical Forest the canopy shades Greatly blocks the reference points and you could get lost pretty quickly. It's a magical experience going there and could be extraneous if you decide to walk/hike the day. About the only cash option, it would be the fewest places on the whole island. The warm months are March- June, October to Mid-December, Chilly(70) in Metro, lower in the mountains, Mid-December to the Beginning of March Then the warm to hot from April to June, The heavy Hot ones are July and August. Expect Hot about 110 degrees Heat Index. Language, Around 20% of people speak English, and of the remaining 80 percent more than half could understand but are not able to communicate fluently. In Puerto Rico you would have the best assistance possible since is in our nature to support everyone, this fact is known in the US.

The streets are only narrow in old Sanjuan, In all of Puerto Rico the rest are very comfortable to drive. Puerto Rico has also beaches with very crystal clear water, like the ones in the movie avatar.
That's not true. We use cards also is very common to use telephone paying system. We use nice and modern formal wardobe because we have formal places and normal activities such as plays, works, etc. In the stores, you find everything. We have cities and in total 78 towns. We don't live in desease. We walk free without worrying about wearing jewlery. Also, we dress updated in fashions. We don't care for what you have. We work, we earn money.

True, don't stray. People have gotten lost for weeks. Helicopters can't find them because of the foilage. If you do get lost in the forest, don't move, odds are you're close to a trail and someone will come looking for you.

There is no Malaria, nor Rabies. PR is not a third world country, it's a US Territory. We have ATMs everywhere, it's rare that a business don't accept cards, even food trucks do. Old San Juan streets are narrow, and of course traffic is slow, it's not a highway, but a lot of people enjoy the ride through old SJ if they don't feel like walking because it's just so beautiful, I did it sooo many times. I got bitten so many times by mosquitos, and it doesn't mean your going to get sick every time you get bit, although you have to take precautions. Also, your not going to get mugged, you can wear your jewelry because its pretty much safe. You just have to know which places to go, just like in US, our main land. Crime the majority of times is between gangmembers, they don't mess with the people. Some parts of the video need editing.

Correction: Vaccination isn't required nor is it a preventative nor cure. Mosquitoes there won't give you diseases and i've been bit 50-times (covered) while there. Exercise normaly tourist caution. You always wanna blend-in.

There is no Maleria in Puerto Rico. Dengue fever is real but rare. If you see a mosquito with long legs, that flies a bit slower, kill it! Don't let it bite you. That may be a dengue carrying mosquito. Dengue is treatable and no a reason to avoid coming to Puerto Rico.

I stopped in to the PR island when on a cruise ship about 25 years ago. The girls were nice but most of the guys always looked like they are up to something. One guy had his pocket picked. Keep your $$$ in a small bag on a chain under your shirt. Don't drink the water. Don't trust any local to take you on a tour.
