Harvard once conducted a study where they had young Americans apply and work the fields in Texas picking vegetables for the market, a lot of them didn't work the whole day, none made it a whole week. If anything there will be a major shortage of lower end workers that are extremely underpaid / overworked, which means fields of produce will go unattended to. It really isn't that important to go after the struggling class. Most people that leave their native countries to work in harsh environments don't really want to abandon everything that they hold dear to them to go to a country that condemns them just for existing. Most politicians are so disconnected from reality that they could not ever possibly understand the struggles that people go through just to reach America, and let's face it were not that special of a nation. We are all trying to survive and thrive in a world that rather place importance on material gains as a way to differentiate the significance of a persons value. Rather than judging a person for who they are we judge them based on what materials they have accumulated. Instead of taking a more investigative look and turning the spotlight back onto ourselves, we blame others for taking away the chance to further enslave ourselves into a system that couldn't give a care about our welfare in the first place. Once upon a time, migrant produce pickers were just that, migrants. These people showed up during harvest season. Then, once the fruit was picked, returned to where they came from. Most of them obtained work visas in order to get their jobs. Today, few of the workers are migrants. I'm sick of listening to college-educated, liberal, professionals talking about "jobs no Americans want to do." We aren't talking about farm hands anymore, we're talking about landscaping, food service, and construction workers. These are all positions that used to be performed by the lesser-educated American citizens, and young, inexperienced American workers. Now, all of these jobs have been hijacked by undocumented Hispanics, who have demonstrated that they'll work harder for less money. It's time for the federal government to go back to protecting the standard of living of American citizens by enforcing our existing immigration laws, which, by the way, have provisions for migrant produce pickers. It seems like you are the one who's interested in helping the ruling class enslave our people by allowing the owners to import a foreign labor force to undercut our own blue-collar workers.
