One Dark Window is actually marketed as an Adult book by Orbit. The first book is more crossover/New Adult, the second book is more Adult, imo. I always thought it was weird it showed up in FL's YA box. Especially since normally YA books don't have intimate scenes and the sequel does 👀
I actually liked Divine Rivals more than Belladonna. 🤓 Which surprised me, but I didn't have expectations about Divine Rivals whereas Belladonna was a book I expected to enjoy more than I eventually did. Go figure. 😅 I will be reading both Ruthless Vows and Foxglove as well eventually.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a reading vlog where I have the exact same books on my TBR for that month!😂 This definitely made me more excited for Belladonna, I’ve been putting it off🥴 I really enjoy watching themed vlogs but I know I couldn’t do them all the time either, I’m too much of a mood reader for that and enjoyment while eeading should definitely be your top priority 💜
I thought that I was the only one that have felt that way about Divine Rivals, I felt so bad wanted to love it so much and I just don't love it as much as everyone else did. Love your videos. Congratulations I can't wait for your wedding it's going to be so beautiful. Amanda From VA.
I LOVED One Dark Window…that ending! I’m reading the second book now and it’s so good too. I would love to see another month or even just another week would be fun!
Very random but in your b-roll from the wedding fayre you showed my friend Gem Wright's photography stall! Was so surprised to see it and squealed a little.
Finally someone else who felt pretty much the same as me about Divine Rivals, I read it the week it came out and a bit before the big hype, and the ending just killed it for me, like it was enjoyable up until that point (but not great and nothing I was obsessed with) but then the ending hit and I just went 😐
Completely agree! I feel so seen here. I’m glad I’m not the only one who went, it was good enough, but that ending. I immediately went and sold my fairyloot edition for an absurd amount of money. I only allow myself to keep 4 star and above books.
So glad you enjoyed Belladonna, I really liked that one. I felt the same with Divine Rivals, it was good, but I felt like the fantasy element was almost pointless and completely lost in the story. I'm intrigued enough to continue and see if it comes into play more in the next book, but yeah, I was feeling the same way. ❤️
I enjoyed this experiment. I’m trying to prioritize my sub box books and they shoot to the top of my TBR when a sequel is announced. How about one sub box themed vlog a month, when it can be worked into your reading/schedule?
Your wedding is gonna be amazing no matter what! Just know that food is the most expensive thing. I nearly fell off my chair when i got the proposal for catering 😅
I like all of your videos, but this one was really good! I did like to see you read through your special edition boxes! I think I need to subscribe to Fairyloot! Btw, LOVE the hair at the end of the video!
I love putting the tree up but I could not do it with each individual piece like that lol God bless you! I loved how it came out in the end 😀 Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Divine Rivals!
What a great vlog! I love hearing ur thoughts, I’ve been interested in one dark window and now I think I might borrow it from the library cause idk if I’ll love it myself! But hopefully I’ll like it!😊
Divine Rivals is definately the best book I read this year. I think I love it most for the charm. The story is simple, true, but yet very elegant and Rebecca's writing style is just wonderful 😊 Then again, I hate Fourth Wing, so who am I to judge 😅
Pretty sure it's also Adult in the UK! Cause it's still published by Orbit. FL put this and The Stardust Thief in their YA box last year, even though neither is YA and they're only ~New Adult at best. 🤷
"Sleep with one eye open" Miss Brie: and I took that seriously 😴😶😶😶😶 Ohhey I have a few of those nike socks in the same colours 🎉🎉🎉 theyre so comfy ❤ I hope you like them too. All these books sounded so interesting, but im sorry you felt so stressed and overwhelmed 😢😢😢
omgsh our dog sleeps with her eyes open too and when she does it I call her demon dog lmfao 😂 and its creepy when she moves her eyes around lol. MY biggest advice for wedding I got married in 2020... but do it small and have a party lmfao. have the people you absolutely "can't not" have at your ceremony and have a great lunch or dinner with those people and have a party for everyone else as a reception with finger food and drinks. This also means you save from a cocktail hour you have lots of time for photos etc. No rushing or stressing on the day ... stressing is a relative term I still did a little hahaha but It keeps the cost down you can still have all the beauty decor and flowers you want but it's again much much cheaper and everyone has a great time!
Just FYI, in case you don’t get the fairy loot, physical edition of two twisted crowns, they do have it on Spotify premium for free as an audiobook When I was looking up the audiobook on Spotify, it was not classified as YA one dark window that is
You're absolutely right about Divine Rivals. Fortunately for me I like WWI and WWII era historical fiction so I did enjoy the story. I think she should have just set it in the real world and did like magical realism with the typewriters.
I finished One Dark Window and Two Twisted Crowns before realising I was pronouncing Ravyn's (Raven) name wrong, he will forever be Ravyn (Ravin) to me 🤣
I'm reading Divine Rivals at the moment. The first 40ish% it felt like a three star. Then a four star after that, and now I'm 66% in I think it might end up being a five star.
@@BeccaandTheBooksOk. Didn't want to be nitpicky but English is my second language and I love perfecting it by finding out all the things that I've learned wrong.
I would love to see more books from subscription boxes. I really like your series where you look if a box subrisprtion is worth it.
I loved getting your thoughts on the subscription box books. Keeping my fingers crossed that you do this again.
I definitely have enjoyed the reading vlogs from book boxes. It has been fun and informative.❤
One Dark Window is published by orbit so in my head it’s always been an adult book and it definitely did feel that way. So happy you enjoyed it!

Yes please do more of this type of reviews/vlogs
I loved Belladonna, it's one of my fave books
I need to get to Divine Rivals as well as One Dark Window hopefully in the new year. I thoroughly enjoyed Belladonna back when I read it.
I actually liked Divine Rivals more than Belladonna. 🤓 Which surprised me, but I didn't have expectations about Divine Rivals whereas Belladonna was a book I expected to enjoy more than I eventually did. Go figure. 😅 I will be reading both Ruthless Vows and Foxglove as well eventually.

think this is a good idea. maybe 2 times a year to just get through the sub box books. it was nice to hear you thoughts on some of these books .

Love reading the Divine Rivals Book so so much, plus I haven't watched the Fairyloot video before

Your Christmas tree looks lovely 😍
I need to try One Dark Window. I really liked Divine Rivals but didnt like Belladonna 😅

My doggo does that too! Dogs' third eyelid always freaks me out
Interestingly enough One Dark Window is published as adult in the US
Damnn it’s usually the other way around

I love it so much!
🥰🥰🥰
❤❤❤
I LOVED Divine Rivals. I would consider it set in WWI like setting given that it has trench warfare and mustard gas.

this is reminding me that I've been a grinch and haven't decorated for Christmas, how tf has that happened?!

I loved One Dark Window, Belladonna was fine, and I dnfed Divine Rivals because I was bored
Divine Rivals and Belladonna are two books I'm really not sure if I'd like. Sometimes books like those surprise me.
💙💙
Just because I had to double check myself - it's suspension of disbelief and not suspension of belief. Or am I hearing something wrong?
I misspoke, it happens 😂

I want to read divine rivals so badly 🥹
