Unlike any of the other toa, like kopaka with too much gold in the upper body, and pohatu, gali, and lewa with just the gold mask, onuas mask really fits his colour scheme. The gold is placed perfect and really just looks good on him. I personally think kopaka has too much gold in his upper body even with the mask off. I think Tahu and Onua really look the best with the golden masks.
***** Stickers are good because if you wanna use the chestplate by itself for lets say a moc, you can take the stickers off and put them on when you want to.
You can actually request extra sheets from Lego. Depending on how new the set is and if you're only ordering like one or two sheets, sometimes they won't even charge you.
I think the fact that Lego switched over to the CCBS system was a smart move. Now they could do so much more with something more advanced than the technic system. The original Toa all had the same body, with a few slight modifications, because they had little to work with, due to how the pieces were molded. Now they have more options, like giving them different bodies and actually unique appearances. I absolutely love how buff Onua is, and how much Tahu looks like a samurai. They could never do anything like that with the technic system. However, I do still like the original Toa, as well as the technic system itself, I just think this is superior in almost every way.
108 pieces?! Wow. People can complain about the new price compared to the original Toa Mata all they want, but 108 pieces for $20 sounds like as good a deal as any.
I think making him shorter makes him more powerful looking. He's kinda like Wolverine. It's not about the the size of the dog but more about the bite. I wish I could get these, but I don't wanna spend over 100 bucks for the full set of toa. As much as I think these guys look badass.
When Bionicle was announced to be rebooted, more than Pohatu, I was fearful that they wouldn't be able to make Gali.. Gali. Though, seeing the new sets, the functions and care that have gone into her as well as the other Toa, I'm ok with how the finished design looks! I don't know how they achieved it, but they managed to keep a subtle feminine look to her, and they gave her a trident!
onua is probaly my favorite out of all the toa just because he's the bulkyest of all the toa and i think he's better than 2002 onua and onua nuva cause he has more armor than all the rest of the toa just because he's chest is the biggest of all the toa.
Onua is my least favourite of the 2015 Toa, to be honest. I love his color scheme, but I find his mask looks a bit ugly and garish in this one. The leg extenders on the trans purple bones look strange. And although I like the fact that they bulked him up, he's just a bit too wide and too short. I think it would have been better to communicate the idea of visual strength through sheer size and make him a bit taller as well to express his muscular power. His shoulders are so wide that he can't even put his hands together, which looks frustrating. His weapon is so heavy despite the ball joint giving it friction that I find his elbow often droops down when playing with it. Which is a shame because I think a hammer is the perfect weapon for this big boy. Onua should be able to fight by striking at the right moment with bone-shattering force, but in practice the hammer is a bit awkward and unwieldy. This is despite his gear function having so much resistance that it's actually annoying to play with. Fortunately Onua 2016 would quickly become my favourite of the Uniters, fixing up pretty much all of these problems and doing basically the same thing, but better.
I'm not a big fan of the gold on any of them. I look at my Tahu and feel like he needs to have the gold removed. The gold could have been brought back as silver if they were to do a rebooted Nuva set. THEN it would make sense. But as an original set, the massive flashy armour seems a bit much, considering these guys are only gonna bet stronger as the series goes on. And where do you go from gold?
I have faith that lego will make an entire new build for bionicle next year. It happened with technic,thay changed it. Fuck ccbs,bionicle deserves its own system
They did it...... but the body was still kinda like CCBS with a skeleton, but it had a built in gear function on the waist and you needed hordika necks to build the shoulders
today I rebuilt all of my 2015 and 16 sets and bought umarak the destroyer and my brother bought 2015 gali and the creature of water surprised I still have all the pieces
I really don't like the changes of color scheme - from black/grey/green we got to green/grey/golden/purple/black/silver. Also I am kid of disappointed by the way most of the new sets are built in a way that they all reuse the identical parts from Hero Factory and then have you put armor on them. Before we had some coold, robot-ish looking aromors and parts. I really miss the pistons to be honest.
+Matty Ahmed If you want something that is a throwback to the original Toa but built with updated lego methods, get the master series. They're basically updates of the original and nuva forms and are a great refresher for classic bionicle fans. If you loved the evolution of bionicle but aren't too nostalgic and are ready to move forward and try something new, but with classic elements then get the Uniters.
