South Texas in summer sucks in my garage. I'm in north austin
"texas... in the winter time super freezing cold"
cries in Canadian
I feel like death, spinning head, lightheaded, and overall just anxious and gross after garage workouts in summer (Live in north Austin metro). I have a fan, I shower my head with water, I sip Pedialyte throughout workouts, and I drink water. Still feel like crap. Anyone do anything besides these things to help alleviate that post heat workout sickness?
Just push yourself through it, I feel like that during the workouts and then I cool down afterwards
I have a large industrial fan, I put it in front of the garage door (for people :-) that opens to outside and have it blow toward the other side of the garage (for cars) which helps tons with air flow and I exercise in front of it
I exercise around 6 am and I drink ice cold water with bcaas or gatorade throughout
I am an older woman and I have become very sensitive to the heat as of late and I work out in South Carolina
If you drink caffeine before you work out, try skipping it, if I drink coffee or consume caffeine preworkout I get overstimulated, anxious and feel like garbage
you could also use a cooling towel around your neck or have a couple and swap them out throughout your sessions to stay cool
I hope some of this helps, take care and keep exercising!
Mechanix gloves in the winter are nice.
I'm far more concerned about the water that will come from the snow and ice that melts off the car. The garage is shared, gym in one bay and car is the other. This is winter will be the first in the garage, gym was in the basement at my previous home.
During the winter I keep my car parked outside so the snow doesn't melt and cause a mess. I also have a squeegee to help too.
