IDEA: Can you make the string shoot out a PVC tube, then put in reverse to suck it back in? Like a reusable silly string can. I'm working on a project that spooks kids for a Halloween trick.

your really cool i like this stuff, i have like a million pieces of electronics, probably literally, i hope you make more videos. this string shooter and that magnetic stiring machine are genius. maybe something with speakers? i have many, from tvs and laptops, phones, and/or with microphones too? i hooked a phones microphone up to headphone jack and plugged it into my phone, and had it on a word app like notes but anyway it picked up words and put them in text. i thought it was random and neat. i have tones of motors too. but little access to much i cant salvage from random crap, u may laugh hearing an american say hes poor lol but i am in the sense i cant just buy a litium battery charging module. i laugh so dont feel bad if u did lol i know what really being without is. anyways thanks your awesome keep it up

This is super cool and looks like a fun project,
But.
Buying a string shooter online is like right around 10$, often even less if you're at a show already.
Each of those 3v motors are about 4$ a piece. That's 80% of the cost right there. The charge controller is another 1-2$. That doesn't even include shipping or any other part and you've already met/exceeded the purchase cost of the original item.
So like...
It looks like a fun project, but it's more expensive than just buying one outright. This would only be just that. For fun.
Still cool tho.
Can you imagine how terrifying of a weapon that would be if instead of string it shot chain, and the chain was electrified with a taser? I don't know about you, but if I saw something like that with lightning bolts, I'd be flipping my s*** and running.

The chassis design of this project is available in the description.
The battery and the battery compartment are also known. You can use any type of 3.7 battery.
The charging module can be found everywhere.
You can also use any type of DC motor available. Only the motor should have a lot of speed and in this project, a 3-volt motor is used, which you can also get from inside toys or stores.
You can use the key of any kind you like.

You can make it at home.
Looks nice. It's probably better than any you can buy. Did you tune the speed of launchin to the wave speed of the rope, or did you just go by feel alone?
The higher the engine speed and the lighter the rope weight, the better the throw.
@@PenguinDIY I'm not sure thats keeps begin true if you take it further. I think ideally the throw speed is equal to the wave speed in the rope. That way you can make waves in the rope, and the waves seem to stand still. For optimal amazingness.
Those are not engines. They're motors.
Always drill a hole towards a surface, not your hand or someone else's.
