Glad to see someone else building one. There isn't much about these. I am part way through one as I bought a rolling chassis and am in the process of building my own boiler, which is a bit of a learning curve. Like you i have too many projects and that work thing gets right in the way. Look forward to seeing the next vid.
The Stevenson type of boiler is difficult to make and often causes problems. I have designed and made a gas fired boiler for two of the 3 1/2" G locos I have made in my shall workshop These are based on the Smithies type where the steam raising is in a simple pot housed inside a larger tube. A gas burner is housed under the boiler so the heat surrounds it. I use a cannister of propane mix with Butane housed in the tender and it steams as well as a Stevenson type

Looking forward to seeing you cover this build project! Hope you keep up the Virginia project as well! Bill
Thanks Bill, yes to many projects on the go. I need to make a couple more videos, as I have a few other projects under the bench and in the pipeline.
