I love the title … $1200 amp versus $500 amp - I just snagged a TSAH15 head/1x12 cab for $250. Still want a REVV for the studio though! So thanks REVV for making an awesome amp and dropping the secondary price on the TSA15!
How can anyone post videos like that with the same garbage playing? Truly the worst guitar player on RUclips and now that I have your attention, I love the channel and the content (and you’re not too shabby on the 6 string either) keep up the good work!
Very cool amp. It looks like it would be super usable in a lot of different scenarios. I think this would solve a lot of problems for churches who want guitars but don't want stage noise.
Hey Ryan, have you tried any surf with the D20? I'm wondering how well it holds on to it's clean tone as you turn it up. This is one thing making me hesitate on this amp. I need a great pedal platform and I know this is perfect for that, but it also needs to be able to push some volume while staying clean for the surfy stuff. I figured you'd be the perfect person to ask because you know what I'm talking about. Thanks.
The D20 focuses on light to mid gain dirt sounds. surprisingly the G20 has a much cleaner clean channel, despite its gain channel being full high gain metal id recommend the G20s clean channel for surf over the D20.
Can you use a cab and balanced out to the PA at the same time? I'd like to be able to run this to the front of house, but still use the cab to monitor my sound from the stage, and at least hear myself on stage.
I'd love one of these, however the cost is what will keep me from picking one up, unless I eventually find a used one for a reasonable price. Thanks for the review.
Have you tested the Hughes and Kettner Grandmeister 36? It is the original small amp with various output levels, including no cab, midi controllable, programmable via iPad, 4 different channels, and with preset programmable or pedalboard switchable boost and effects? I have one and I think it is great sounding and really flexible. I’ve seen it used by a certain Alan Parsons in his live Blu-ray with the symphonic orchestra and band.
I use this amp in every thing i record around here, I don't usually use the torpedo part of it for recording but I like it for quiet playing when my kids are asleep.
Much respect for REVV for their ambitious and looking ahead take on this new amp. Why when I listen to demos of this amp I long for character. Why am I just not getting it. I’m just not getting it. Where’s the “something” ? The that tone? I’m wanting to hear?
@@60CycleHumcast Yeah I'm sure shipping would be at least $40 if not more due to the weight. I'd probably go that route as well. I might just pair mine with my Super Champ X2 and call it a day.
So as a reviewer Ry do you get to keep these things for free due to the free publicity you afford the company? If so I should start my own channel. Cheers lad & yeah snazzy shirt again! Lol. Hawaii 50! Book em Dano! Surfs up dude! ;) That amp sounds killer! Very tasty.
This one is a product placement arrangement where I pitched to REVV to send me one for demo use. A lot of the demos I do are paid + product, especially with pedals. It takes a massive amount of work to get to the point where companies are interested in those kinds of arrangements.
Sounds like a great amp but I’ve never been able to stomach an amp that doesn’t have reverb in it or that forces me to use pedals as a result. Otherwise sounds fine.
minus 9us I have a couple Zooms myself and do love them. More people should try them. Mine are the 5gn and 3gnx. I use one of my Zooms with my worst sounding amp and it makes the amp sound good😀
This amp looks and sounds great. I keep thinking though, I bet in a year they will release a d40. With more headroom, this could be all the amp you would ever need.
i've been using sub 20 watt amps for years. I don't need anything bigger these days but Im sure someone out there would find use with something bigger.
I got my name from a livestream he did. It’s a phonetic pronunciation of a African phrase that mean “ can you hear what I say” and for that I am eternally in his debt 🤗
its not at an impulse buy price range, thats for sure. It meets my specific needs but i don't think everyone should be buying this thing. Its for the people that need/want it.
@@60CycleHumcast I totally agree. You are a RUclipsr doing great content with music related gear. So, for you it makes total sense. For me, I'm a local performer who just needs something for small gigs. God Bless!
The whole package with Revv both the 3 pedals and amp are really well thought out and actually an excellent value for money product.
I hear a lot of noise coming from this amp and for that price it's way overpriced. Heck you can get one used for 700 bucks on reverb.
Been waiting for your review of this! I only do home recording, so I've been gassing for a while. This would make my pedals SO HAPPY!

The TSA15h is a beast of a pedal platform for the money.
Personally I'd be happy with a £200 TSA set up and miss out the gummy bears , yuck, can't stand em . Also saving £ 1000. You made the right decision 👍
LOL I just looked over at my amp head, when I heard Ryan mention wiping it down. Mine looks more used to put it mildly. Yeah... :/
I too appreciate an attractive box.

i haven't
Sounds great, but I think you should put that big white tube screamer on top.👍
im going to put it on my pedalboard and use it as tube screamer.
Revv it up man! Pedal to the metal time. The box looks like something you would get really expensive bottles of liquor in! Lovely.
thats a good idea.
Hi man, are you still using this amp? Happy with the direct(torpedo) clean tones?

@@60CycleHumcast hi! Why you dont use the torpedo part for record?
@@chitodiaz5734 because it’s just not part of my workflow. I record with mics into a field recorder.
You gots to do a comparison with the Princeton now
no reverb?
I’ve had mine for a couple of months now. It’s a brilliant little amp and a great pedal platform. 👍 Love it! ❤️
I have yet to see one video where this amp sounds good with pedals. It sounds mediocre at best and there's no excuse for that at this price point.
Jim Toms
Well, stop watching videos then and go find a dealer where you can try it yourself. It does sound very good with pedals.
I wouldn't say I am crazy about the tone of course I dont like greenbacks might like it through another cab.

I don't know what it sounds like where your at but through my headphones its sounds horrible.
Can i use stereo effects with the revv D20?
its only one amp. you would need two amps for stereo.
@@60CycleHumcast
Can i connect the headphone output to stereo effect ?
you could split the headphone out into a stereo effect and then the effect would produce a stereo signal.

A 50W Victory VX Kraken is about the same price. Just saying.
there are lots of amps that are around the same price. The Kraken is a pretty different amp, i got this one for its specific features.

next time, FOUR HUMBUCKERS!!!!

5:08 The Ibanez DOES have an effects loop
Mi Pe it doesn’t work the same as most amps effects loop. It allows you to put things between the amp and the built in tube screamer.
