Thank you for this! 1. In the Tech Nation guide, it says "individuals acknowledged as experts in the digital technology field, with detailed knowledge of your work over a period of 12 months or more"--is it ok if you worked for only 4 months together but the recommender has knowledge of your work for 12 or more months? Am I interpreting this correctly? 2. Is it advisable to use a recommendation letter as a piece of evidence (i.e. one out of 3 pages in the evidence documents)?
Hi Nadia, you're videos are really motivating and full of knowledge and helpful advice. I'm going to recommend to my friends to watch them as well. I have a question. What if the company that I'm working for is a small company and not well-known? Having said that, CEO and other managers in the company are not established in their industry, they have normal LinkedIn profile, they didn't have great achievements, etc. I getting recommendation letter from these people okay? Should I try to change my company and join to a better company with more talented managers?
Hi, thanks for contacting me and I'm glad you found my content valuable. Unfortunately, I'm not able to provide personalized advice in the comment section, I really do need to talk to you and evaluate your situation holistically to provide appropriate advice. Please reach out to me on LinkedIn www.linkedin.com/in/beetlehope/ so that we can discuss this further. Thanks, Nadia.
They can, according to current rules (as of February 2023). However, I recommend that my clients do their best to get at least one letter (or more) from a different organization. This creates a stronger case and paints a picture of you as a well-rounded expert, well regarded in the wider tech world.
Hello, this is a useful video, thanks for making this! I have a question. Will I need to repeat the same achievement in all recommendation letters especially for the volunteering part? For instance, if I mentor outside of work, 3 recommendation letters will also state this same content. Is that how it should be done?
Hi, I'm glad you liked the video. I would advise against all letters repeating the exact same achievement. For volunteering it's enough to have a detailed reference letter from the org where you volunteer and maybe have one of the authors of the main letters of recommendation briefly mention your volunteering efforts too. Happy to advise on the structure of your documents. If you need more detailed help, please email me nadia@beetlehope.com
Good Day, Nadia my boss no longer works at the tech company I was part of can I get the letter from him or do I have to reach out to someone in the organization.
Hi, you can get a letter from him as long as he is the best person to recommend you. Please also note that letters from direct managers and colleagues are not acceptable (not sure what "boss" means but he might not be an acceptable candidate).
Do I require a passport to apply for the endorsement in my field? My passport will soon be out so I'm thinking that I can start the endorsement process first since it takes 8 weeks. Thank you again
I'm not too sure about that to be honest, I would recommend consulting either with an immigration lawyer or Tech Nation directly on this. You do need your passport details to apply for endorsement. If you get a new passport while waiting for the endorsement from Tech Nation, you will need to somehow notify them that your passport details changed in the meantime, but I haven't dealt with this myself. This should be possible, I think, but I don't know what the procedure looks like and how complex this might be. Hope that helps!
Whether the recommendation letter should be in letter head. Because Team Lead or Manager won’t have access to to write a LOR in letter head in most of the MNC.
A letterhead is not required. It's great if you can get a letter with company logo on it, but this is not a deal breaker (at least I haven't seen applications getting refused for not having a logo on the letters). Happy to be corrected.
hi Nadia, thanks for these info 😊 I just found this visa option and planning to apply later this year. However I just read I'd need to submit 3 recommendation from 3 different person (3 different organizations). I have so far 2.5 years experience (close to 3) and I only worked for 1 company so far. however I have connections with ex-colleagues who work for other companies now. They would give me a rec letter. Can I do that or those recommendations must come from companies I worked at before?
Is it necessary for the recommendation letter to be printed on the company's letterhead? In my case, we developed an AI/ML-based digital product for government and semi-government organizations. Getting a recommendation letter on the letterhead is difficult because they need to get it approved by the office of the ministry, therefore, it is nearly impossible to ask such a favor. :(
As i heared before that there are three pages required in recomendation letter 1 is letter 2nd page for information of author and 3rd page for cv ? Cv is necessary?
Thanks for this Info. I have found 3 of them from my 3 different company. But 1 of them is refusing to provide his official email id. Is it okay if i just put his linkedin id?
Hi Kiran, all letters of recommendation should include email and phone number of the expert writing the letter. It can be a personal email address though, doesn't have to be official email.
There is no lower limit, no, but most letters are around 2-3 pages long. The letter needs to be long enough to cover all the necessary points, support your chosen criteria and tell a convincing story. This usually takes some space. Does this help?

Thanks alot Nadia. I was looking for this video since many weeks. Thanks
You are welcome :) I'm glad you found it helpful.
Thanks for such an amazing video. Does the recommendation letter have to be chronological?
Could you clarify what you mean please?

Just ask your Team Leader or project manager.

Recommendation letter can written by art gallery in london?
Yes
For Arts and Culture endorsement, yes, definitely.
Is there any lower limit for the length of recommendation letter?

Does this help?
Is a letter from someone from outside UK accepted by Tech Nation?
Yes, definitely. As long as they are a recognized leader in tech.
Thank you so much for this
You are welcome. I'm glad you found this video helpful.
