I was 15 now 30 absolutely love them
I was 19 when I discovered them. 30 and still buying their craft. This music thing is a really powerful thing.
I didn’t like any of there music. Maybe an exception to 2 maybe 3 songs , before they made the album. Only by the night. After that came out , they been a favorite of mind. It makes me wonder. What the hell were they doing , that was so different , more then then all the other time they made music before this album. It’s like a completely different band. I could relate to every single song on that album , in one way, in one time or another, in my life. I don’t know what Caleb was doing different during the writing and video making , or who wrote the lyrics to all there songs , because this album it probably my favorite album , other than a couple Pink Floyd albums, and maybe Led Zeppelin 4, where I can listen to the whole album from start to finish and love every bit of it.
If I had to. I suspect . They or he were under some opiates and cocaine . Magic mushrooms , alcohol,,, or something like a little kodine in there juice. They all contribute with there artistic sides. Which only last a few hours, then they need more, It seems like they are more intuitive in what they are , making , wether it’s poetry , art drawings , writing painting, or writing a book or making a song. So many artists, used Drugs in their work in order to make it more magical , Yet so many artist died because of this. In The prime of there life , because addiction , that comes with the creativity. And flow of work , that seems to pour out of you when your under the influence, Many artist’s, musicians, actors ,authors, have, all died do to there deadly silent helper. (Their drugs/alcohol✌🏼. I hope the can get a grip on what is helping them make the best music of there lives. Nobody deserves a death , in the anguish of an addiction. Stay away from Drugs Kids !

It makes a huge difference!! Listening on car speakers is great because this album is so bass heavy, but you need to listen on some good quality headphones! You hear everything 10x better

One of the best rock bassist to ever do it. He's always so solid, in the pocket, plays for the song, but gets creative and tears it up sometimes as well. Always killer tone too!!!

The intro is like KOL + Tangerine Dream. That arpeggiated synth 😍 Never thought I’d hear the day I put those two names together but it’s such a perfect sound

I was brought up on rock in the late 70s, been lucky enough to see a lot of the great bands in their prime, but out of them all KOL are my favourite, fair statement when you think of the great bands over the past 60 years, I find the emotion & songwriting in their music just hits me right down to the core of my very soul, beautiful, majestic, exciting music 🙏❤️

I loved Youth and Young Manhood, and listened to Aha Shake Heartbreak a lot, too, in the early noughties. I didn't care much for any of their subsequent albums but, wow, this... No catchy anthems, perhaps, but the musicianship, emotion, and layers of sound. It's a thing of beauty and my favourite KoL album.
