I disagree slightly. Waddle's point is that Ruggs is/was a good guy. He's just like you or I. He had no history of being a "bad person" or "getting in trouble. His own choice and judgment cost a girl her life, a family a lifetime of gried, and cost himself his entire career. But it's an important lesson to learn because ultimately Ruggs is not much different from you or I. It would be arrogant to think that we as human beings might never succumb to a similar lapse in judgment. Be careful about making any severe moral proclamations about Ruggs. Learn from, rather than condemn. Again -- he might not be much different from you or I.

Two peoples lives were ruined, one as the result of another’s wrong doing. All you can hope for now is that this is a teaching moment, Henry is now paying for his poor choices that night. It’s absolutely tragic, I couldn’t imagine being in the shoes of either one. I hope the young women is in a better place and I hope Henry comes out of prison a grateful man. Dude had the world by the nuts and one big mistake took that all away. Life is fragile, treat every day like it could be your last.

Unfortunately, for Ruggs, that lapse in judgement was much much much worse than most. He’s aloud to have sympathy for a friend that made one awful decision that destroyed his life. Not just with throwing away his career and the jail time he’ll face, but the fact he has to live everyday with what he did to that woman. I’m sure no one wishes they could go back and change what happened that night more than Ruggs. We’re all imperfect human beings that deserve to have friends that care about us.
