So glad I backed all 3 of the In Search of Darkness documentaries. Cant wait for the 90s version to come out
When is "Tomorrow 2" going to be released?
I came across the first one at a second hand store and loved it. I’ve looked into getting the other two but the pricing was absolutely outrageous. I just can’t justify over a hundred bucks for a couple documentaries. If there’s cheaper ways to get them, let me know!
I want them so much, but I didn’t get in to the original buy in and now they are expensive as hell.
Like trailer comps, these are the perfect discs to put on as background noise while you’re doing other things.

I have all 3 documentaries separate, and In Search of Tomorrow too. The Hunger and Ghost Story books are must read books that those movies are based on. Great video!😀

I have supported all 3 In Search of Darkness documentaries and the In Search of Tomorrow documentary. My name is in the credits of all 4 films. I also supported the newest film that will delve into the first half of the 1990’s. I absolutely love theses documentaries. I have discovered so many awesome movies because of them. You are correct CHH, owning all of these is very OCD satisfying!
This is an amazing Trilogy. I backed each of them separately and have all the posters and also my name in the credits. I also have the soundtracks on vinyl as well, which are great! (Part 3 still on pre order)

For my money "In Search of Darkness" Part 1 is one of the best horror doc ever made!
These films are just Iconic! I would love to get a hold of this documentary trilogy just to check them out. I don't currently own a blu ray player but would still love to check them out.

My Xmas was good. Had to wear a gas mask since my family is sick and I don't want to get sick. The half a small bottle of fireball with eggnog, and then brandy with eggnog, and I've always been a "I'll stand" since childhood, which is something I can't do anymore. By the end of opening Xmas gifts I was starting to not feel so good. Headache from all the eggnog and booze and my body aching from standing for too long, etc. But overall, it was great. Our neighbors showed up, which was cool. I enjoyed that. Then we opened gifts. One of my favorite gifts I got was a Hand grip strengthener, a real nice fancy one. I'm gonna be using it all the time. I got a a pokemon plushie, and of course I got the gift I am always looking forward to every year as an Xmas gift; An assortment of hot sauce. And I was so glad my brother and family friend really loved their gift. I gave the family friend a Freddy Krueger decoration. Since that's her favorite franchise. I gave my brother a pretty cool electronic toy to play with, which he loved, and then "In case you didn't like that gift. I know you'll love this." which was a shirt with his favorite TV show on it, which he really loved and as soon as we got home he put it on. Then I gave the rest of my family a box of German chocolates to eat. I will say...it didn't seem like everyone was super thrilled this year for Xmas.
Search of darkness trilogy. Part 2 is my favorite. Which is a "well duh" thing since I love Italian horror and giallo. So of course it's gonna be my favorite of the trilogy.
And I had the exact same reaction as you. I had never heard of Ghost stories and the documentary piqued my interest and ya. It's a pretty damn good movie. The acting by the lead actress; the ghost is awesome. Great acting. The Hunger, I had already seen it 2 years prior to seeing the documentary. It's a good movie. Not the best vampire movie, but pretty damn good. I love the beginning at the 80's punk club. I did watch The Black cat due to the documentary as well. Didn't like it. The beast within, also watched it two years prior. I didn't like it. Also watched Saturday the 14th due to the documentary. I was kind of playing with the idea of "Should I give it a chance?" before seeing the documentary but once I saw the documentary I was like "I'm sold. I want to see what that Fish thing is about" and was not a fan what so ever. I have not seen He knows your alone in a long while. Since at least 2012, 2013. My favorite scene is when she lays down to smoke some weed, with headphones on, listening to a great awesome song. That scene I've always remembered. Don't remember too much else other then that kill, the movie theater scene in the beginning, and the whole bride theme. Also saw Cat people 2 years prior to the documentary,lol. How ironic that I watched most of these movies the same year prior to them being featured in the documentary. I mainly watched it because I had just got done reading a book about one of my favorite serial killer cases and he was apparently a big fan of the movie. He had the soundtrack and the police watched some "home videos" he had made and he apparently liked to play the soundtrack during "adult activities" with his wife and other women and that includes "3 is better then 2." Cat people was good. Definitely have to rewatch it.
I can't wait for their 90's horror documentary. Can't wait to see what they say about that decade.

As a documentary its not great but as a recommendation highlight reel its hard to imagine better

Also also i loved the 80s ones so so so much that i bought 2 versions of part that begin the chirs Jericho one( meet him such a nice dude love fozzy and his wrestling work) and the cinemassacre james Rolfe one i even got a special box to put my cory Taylor part 1 in ( also met him amazing Musican dude knows his horror and the sponge 🧽 bob theme song 😂 " that fucking song follows me everywhere " he told .me and my wife i even have posters from all 3 documentarys 1 and part 2 i have signed 1part tom savina signed with cory part 2 Amelia Kinkade ( such a sweetheart btw) signed part 2 poster along with zack from gremlins movies as well as Darcy and joe bob and heather langcamp...and tony todd all amazing icons of horror ive met from going to days of the dead in Atlanta Georgia in with u man i loved loved this documentarys it felt like a trip back in time to me when i was a kid at the video store and rent alot of this movies like killer klowns from outer space which i love and so so so manny others i know own from growing up that way and getting alot of same as u the titles because of this amazing documentary.. i cant wait to see how the 90s edition will be.. also doug Bradley sweet seeet guy and kane i highly recommend meeting kane hooder...the sweetst that was a jason voorhees to .me he is Jason voorhees period just like dougs pinhead and Robert England is freddy period there the definition people that played though characters fight me on that change .my mind on that i dare u. But again again dude yes 100000,000 times i couldnt agree with u more .more horror fans need to own and watch this fro. New to older ones like myself been a fan of horror since i was a kid thinking freddy Kruger was real then he became my 1number one forever period. They’re pretty good documentary’s but no way I would ever pay the price there going for.
In search of darkness is a money grab all the way. Spending maybe 5 mins talking a movie is not anywhere near a documentary. Just a rehashing and moving on to the next.
I supported the first doc and even purchased a digital copy at the time. I remember thinking it was trash.
I really wanted to love these docs but the nobody’s transposing their politics onto cult classics, the lack of industry heavyweights and the filmmakers spending so little time on each film turned me off. 3/5 stars. 💀🔥🎥
