I assume that you have told grocery cost for one person.Because it's very expensive now after covid.Grocery for a couple with one kid costs around $800-1050 especially if you are purchasing halal meat and vegetables every week.

Texas doesn’t have state tax compared to Illinois but if you own a property here then you pay property taxes which is on the higher side so the cost of living almost evens out. Just my 2 cents lol

I know Austin is the most expensive, but was leaning more towards Dallas. My only issue or worry is flooding, is that common in Dallas vs. Houston? Or no?
You dont need home insurance if its rented. Health insurance can be added but not necessary! I have explained in a previous video that ER is free for people who cant afford. Basically you can live here without health insurance but not without electricity.
