The viewer got more intimacy with Bruce's journey, his motivation, his anger and determination to be what he became. It was the perfect origin story with the sagely Ras al ghul with his wisdom and philosophy that intrigued a lot and left you wanting more of that. We all wish we had someone like that to guide us in life.

Everyone praises The Dark Knight. You can probably make the case that it's the best film in the trilogy, however Begins will always be my favourite.
