Yeah, his '92 NOC and Mr Olympia versions were so sharp!! Look at 2:04 and the striations in his chest and shoulders, and how lean his face was!! He got bigger later on, but the super sharpness was gone!!

I was in the crowd for the '96 and '97 British Grand Prix. DY won '96, Nasser placed 2nd (and there was mixed reception to those results, many wanted Nasser to win). DY was shriveled a little that year but was totally shredded. However in '97 DY didn't do that show and Kevin mopped up and what a physique Kevin had! First time seeing him bald, big, full blown and absolutely shredded. Ngl... this version of Kevin would have mopped up DY easily, even coming scarily close to beating a '93 DY. He was I N S A N E. I'll never forget when he walked out on stage to Prodigy's 'Breathe', it was so damn bad ass. So for me around that 97 period he was unreal and just goes to show how erratic Kevin was with peaking for a show. I honestly think he could have dethroned Yates on one of those Mr Olympia years had he presented that kinda physique.
I think this has become more common since the beginning of the mass monster era, where these guys are essentially forced to ruin their shape with what feels like non-stop addition of side. Certainly Sergio O. got better after the beginning. His look in 72 in Essen wipes the floor with all 3 of his 60's winning looks. And Arnold was at his all-time best at what was meant to be his last Mr. O, 1974. But I would generally agree with a few more modern notable exceptions: Ronnie Coleman of course, who made his first appearance in what? 92 or 93, and of course looked his best in 98/99 (while looking his most unbeatable in 03). Also, Lee Haney was super consistent, but I think it's fair to say he looked his best at his last Mr O in 91.
I love his 92 shape, will be my favourite bodybuilding shape of all time. Is it his BEST ever? I don't know, probably not and most won't agree, however it is my favourite shape of his and ever.
my favorite body of all time, if i could look like any pro i would pick him my personal favorite is 92 Olympia, his best competitive body is probably the 97 Finnish gran prix
What made the Finland version so good was Kevin being less full, it brought out his lines so much more. At the olympia that year he came in to full and it made Kevin appear more blocky. I've spoken with Kevin about the Finland show and he said he was basically fasting because there was no place to get his diet foods on that tour
92 Levrone could be the new standard of bodybuilding at that time... Even liking Yates physique, when he arrived, the course of bodybuilding changed for the worse.
Off-topic but relevant: Levrone's noted for discontinuing 'supplements' between contests, (then getting back in shape in weeks). Kevin's long healthy career's been attributed to these 'clean' periods.
Marx, I have a request and would appreciate it dearly if you accepted it: Can you do a "How would Krizo's Empro shape have fared at the 1993 Mr.Olympia" video? I think he looks like he came straight out of that year (something between 1993-1995 but I thought going back 3 decades fits the most). Size, quality, density, conditioning, lack of SEOs all make him look more like a classic BBer.
What I liked in Kevin's case is that at the end of his career he didn bloat, injected something obviously ugly and spilled over in any way; he was more athletic looking, somewhat slender, which in a way made him look healthier, so a good look.
Kevin was my trainer he said at the 97 grand prix he couldn't find any food that he wasn't scared to eat. So he basically fasted and lived on tuna which is why he was smaller bit his lines were so much more impressive
Maybe Im crazy but I like BIG version of Kevin the most from 997 to 99, but Mr. Olympia 1992 is also incredible and this is second favourite version of Kevin. I don like him between 92 and 97 and ever after 1999

Hope hes at the Olympia expo this year...hard to pick a bad year actually. The 2016 version was crazy for a 52 year old...those wheels were still better than 99% of people.
@@Imperialbbuilding his legs were not good gotta agree. But from the side he was still insanely insanely good for 52 years of age. the legs were way off tho
The 98 version was the first one I saw on video. Me was thick, massive......posed to the soundtrack of Godzilla which was highly appropriate. So I'm split between the 2000 version where he had that slick hair and the 98. The photo shoot pics from that year, 2000, are legendary, but the mass of 98 seals it for me.
I think his best look was 92, even his pro card winning physique - but 97 was likely his best as far as overall bodybuilding, though I still prefer 92 - I was at the 02 Olympia and that was a huge gift, considering Gunter should have won especially
About the 1992 levrone, it was the same story with flex wheeler. He was probably better at the NOC than at the olympia (in flex wheeler case at the 1993 AC it's obvious) but pics in that event are scarce.
IMO 92 is a best version because it's more balanced. I always had a feeling that Kevin's legs was his weakest part comparing to pretty massive front part of upper body. Just comparing his photos with Ronnie in rear poses - King Ron just demolishing Kevin in the lower part, the same was with Flex.

Kevin's first show at the 92 Olympia.....I thought he looked unbelievable, the clear winner ..
His peak was from the mid 90s to the late 90s imo. By the 00s his legs lagged behind his upper body and in the early 90s he was a little small
