Matthew 16:24-26
Christ-Centered: Take up your Cross and Follow Me
* Jesus was a suffering servant.
* Deny: disown.
* Carrying a cross means the person is going to die, the most torturous way to die.
* To follow Christ meant to disown and die to self.
- It is an absolute surrender.
❌ Self-love is the greatest love of all.
❌ Follow your heart. Jer 17:9
❌ My body, my decision.
* When we put self above all, we get into trouble.
- What do I want? What do I need?
* Self-centered life or Christ-centered life?
* Christ-centered life is centered around God’s love not for self-love.
- God doesn’t need us. He is self-sufficient.
- Only God can heal our selfish hearts.
- God is kind in all His works.
