Love that Zero. Sounds just like a food processor. Thank God someone at Kawasaki woke up and made what an updated traditional motorcycle should be. Go get 'em!!!
Kawasaki's doing a great job with their recent bikes for sure. I'm just about to release another video. This one includes their new Z650 RS.
I understand the reasoning behind the decision not to sell these outside of Japan, but I still think it's the best looking of all the W series.
Yeah, it's definitely evident how much attention they put towards this bike. A true beauty for sure!
Never knew this part of the story. Nicely explained.
Thank you! I had to dig deep to get most of that info. I'm glad you enjoyed it
Watching your video in Albania 🇦🇱 Thank you for the brilliant tour and history lesson.
All the way from Albania...that's impressive! lol I'm glad that you enjoyed a look at my little hometown
Brilliant, if only this meguro k3 comes to Australia, will buy it in a heartbeat!
Hopefully they will! It's a fun bike to ride
Canada too 🇨🇦
Thank you for sharing some of Meguro's history. I live in the states and have never seen a Meguro. The closest thing here would be the W800 and I'd love to own one of them.
Both the W and Meguro are such sweet bikes. I'm glad that you enjoyed Meguro's history, and I hope that you can check out at least one of these bikes in person at some point in the near future
Thank you for the trip . I am french and own a 1999 Kawasaki w650 ( first édition) which i am very proud of .
Thanks for coming along for the ride! Those 650s are also really beautiful bikes
I saw a red and chrome tank Kawasaki W2 for sale in a local shop back in '68. I thought it was the most beautiful bike on the planet. Many years and many bikes later (including an R1, two zx 10s and three Fireblades ) the W2 still knocks me out. Great video and thank you from British Columbia!
I can imagine how it must've looked. The W2 was a real stunner, too. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Beautiful channel Jeff
Thank you! I'm glad that you're enjoying it
Wonderful video. Thanks for sharing and thanks for the ride through Japan 🎌Also that is a very cool and beautiful bike! Good riding 😎
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it
recently got myself a w800 street, loving it. This one looks great.
They're sweet bikes for sure. I'd love to own one someday. Hopefully you'll enjoy yours for many years to come!
Awesome bike! Wish they brought them to the US. My dad has a standard 2020 W800. Great bike, we love riding it.
I Wish they did, too. I bet they'd sell pretty well! At least we still have the standard model offered back home. Hopefully you guys can enjoy that 2020 model for a good, long time!
Meguro is very nice. Proper looking bike. 👍
Enjoyed the tour round the countryside. Very nice.
I'm glad you enjoyed the bike, and the countryside tour! : )
Dude, I am so jealous! I've always wanted to own a W650, but would happily take a W800. The K3 is gorgeous 😍.
Same here! Any of those bikes would be a lot of fun to own. The Meguro in particular stands out to me since it's such a rare bike outside Japan.
@@jeffinjapan2549 totally agree with you, Jeff. 👍
DUDE!!! great video, also awesome reference to TOP GUN, u the man "maverick"
lol thanks, dude! I'm glad you enjoyed it and my Top Gun section. I've seen the new Top Gun twice at the theaters now...such a fun movie.
Your channel is a hidden gem. Thank you for the videos
That's very kind of you to say. Thank you so much!
Thanks Jeff. Another great video showcasing Kawasaki’s little known gem of a bike. I hardly see any W800s on the UK roads. Would love to see you touring more of Japan on a W800 and showing us some of the great sights and history.
Thanks! I'm glad that you enjoyed it.I thought it would be fun to introduce this rare version of the W to everyone. I'll definitely make more riding videos that show even more of Japan
so beautiful
It sure is! : )
Love this video it is a beautiful bike. Thank you for the sight seeing tour I wish I could see Japan.
You're very welcome! I'm glad you liked it
Another great video!
Thanks, buddy! Glad you liked it, man
Really interesting - thanks!
You're very welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Very enjoy your video and very beautiful bike too. Thank you
Thank you! I'm glad that you liked it
Excellent, thank you for the History very interesting 👏
I'm glad to hear that! You're very welcome : )
Good job Jeff~ 👏
Thanks, buddy! :)
Awesome clip 👍
Thank you!
Awesome video!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it
Very interesting thanks
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I really liked the Tokyo Highway part, reminded me of the Gran Turismo 7 track. great video.
lol I'm glad that you enjoyed it, man. It does look a lot like that track. I wish I could ride on it at those speeds in the game, though
God damn, what a beautiful video. Damn!
LOL That's got to be the best comment I've received so far
@@jeffinjapan2549 😄
Very interesting story !! I have a 2012 w800.I love it!!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! : ) And that you're also enjoying your W
the meguro badges are so beautiful!
They really are!
A great video.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it
perfect
Sweet looking retro bike
It really is
This is the first time for me to know the Gai-jin (sorry if you mind this word, but I used for meanig to become friend with you )is introducing Japanese sight riding on Megro K3,since I am going to buy this Model, so your intoroducion with this video is very much fun for me. I am expecting to watch next.
Thank you for commenting! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the video. The Meguro is a beautiful bike with a unique history. I hope you'll enjoy your Meguro!
Great video again! While I absolutely love this Merguro edition of the W800 I actually prefer the lower straight bars on my standard W800. All of these Kawasakis are gorgeous machines though. I wouldn't trade mine for anything.
Thank you! Yeah, both handlebar styles are pretty comfortable to be honest. Hopefully Kawasaki starts offering this version overseas, too.
Finally starting to make bikes like they should
The quality of these bikes really shows, too
Haha, that's a lot of stairs!
You're telling me! lol Definitely some good exercise
great trip down memory lane and still a bike of true beauty , these we can' t get in europe and uk due to euro 5 no W coming to these shores for the time being it seems
Oh no I'm sorry to hear that you guys can't get these bikes there. Hopefully Kawasaki will do something about that in the future.
Interesting video, your Meguro sounds much better than the W800 or my own W650...It looks a lot closer to my bike though . Love the scenery and tour . Dave NZ
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I bet your W650 is a sweet ride. I haven't had the pleasure of riding one of those yet.
Very nice video and cool nice infos of the Meguro brand . I have a 1999 W650 with 115000 kms😅
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I bet your W650 is a beauty
Great vid, I have owned the W650 and 800 and much preferred the 650.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I've heard the 650 is another great bike. I, sadly, haven't had a chance to ride one yet
Great video, loved all the history, what a fantastic looking bike, sadly Kawasaki no longer have any W bikes shown on the UK site.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. That's too bad they no longer offer these bikes over there. I guess it's hard for them to compete against Triumphs
@@jeffinjapan2549 Its probably more to do with the competitive pricing of the Royal Enfield 650, a good seller in the UK.
@@Vanrides. I can certainly understand why it would be. It looks like they did a great job with the Royal Enfield 650, and at that price point it's a fantastic deal.
HI、ジェフ😃
motor cycleが大すきなんですね🏍トムクルーズかっこいい👍
I hope you are going to ride on the motor cycle in Kikai island some day.
NYはどうですか?
have a nice trip!🏍
Hi, Chiemi! : ) いつもバイクだいすきです笑。Have you seen the new Top Gun movie yet? It's a good one. I hope I can ride a bike in Kikai some day, too. NYは良かったよ。すごく楽しかった。まだ帰りたくなかった。日本は暑すぎ。
Hi Jeff, loved this video as well as your previous one on the W800. So much more bonus info and content (that other reviews don't have) and very relaxing to watch. I really, REALLY like the W800 and want to own one but I already have 2 motorcycles and my wife will kill me if I get another! By the way, do you do any English voice overs for Japanese documentaries? Your voice and manner of speaking sounds like it.
Wow! Thanks for the amazing compliments about the videos and voice overs I do. I don't do any professionally, but would definitely give it a go if the opportunity presented itself. Your wife sounds strict, but at least you've got 2 rides to enjoy : )
Thanks Jeff as a previous owner of the W2 motorcycles over the years, I tried to find out as much as I could about Meguro, the W predecessors. I quite like many of their machines from the 1950's particularly the 500 singles, and have a collection of photos. This Meguro is different enough from the W 800 bikes to make one think it could be a different brand. I tried to find information on the Meguro cannonball event, but nothing is posted in the web in English about it.
The W2's must've been fun to ride! To be honest, I'm not sure what Kawasaki's intention is for the the Meguro K3. Maybe they'll continue making it for only the domestic market since Meguro was never really popular outside Japan. It would be nice if they started offering this version outside Japan, though. Yeah, the Meguro cannonball was only held once so far. I'll see if I can find out anymore info on that for you. ...Okay, so I just checked into it more. According to one website, it says they're planning the next cannonball event in Nasukarasuyama this coming November 5th or 6th, but they haven't released anymore details yet
Superb bike, I would buy it immediatly if it was available in North America. I do not think it will ever be available though.... Thanks for a nice video
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I guess the next best thing to this bike is buying the standard W back home and getting those curved handlebars for it
@@jeffinjapan2549 I really like the handlebars but wouldn't give up my chrome ones. I'd like to get those handlebars in chrome. I did add a riser to my W800 and on this bike, because of the angle of the handlebar mount, when you put a riser on it, it also brings the bars back closer to you. So it was a win-win.
@@spydie That's great! Sounds like a nice setup you have with your handlebars now
My favourite motorcycle w800 if only they made one that’s under w650 or W400 🙂 and was available in Australia 🇦🇺 I know the W650 is discontinued. Lovely timeline for the Meguro
Yeah, the 650 was a nice size for sure. Who knows...maybe it'll come back someday
Thank you for the video. Now I just envy you and Japanese people for Meguro, because in my country, maybe it's just impossible to get the current model (K3). Even for W800, its barely seen in the road. Hope you'll keep upload the W800-Meguro themes Video, or generally classic bike related video. Thank you
Thank you, and I'm glad that you enjoyed the video! Hopefully Kawasaki will start offering these bikes in your country, too. I'll definitely be making more similar bike videos in the future
Thanks for your Meguro videos! I'd love to see these in the US, but I see they have cut back the W line to only the standard. My guess is that it does not sell very well here, and has been seriously undercut by the Royal Enfield twins.
I'm glad you enjoyed the videos! Yeah, I think you're right. Royal Enfield and Triumph have most of this market back home.
オート三輪、懐かしい〜!!
今は全然見ないですね! I wish I could drive one : )
It was so cute‼️ I loved オート三輪 when I was kid 🥰
Suzuki look more and more as though the murmured rumour is true: they'll be pulling out of motorcycles in the near future. I love that Z650RS! Rode it a month ago and it feels very very good. That Meguro looks wonderful I must say, although the swept back handlebar won't necessarily work for me..
I really like the look of that new 650RS. Does it ride as awesome as it looks? I hope so. I haven't heard about Suzuki pulling out. Let's hope it's only rumors.
Cool video! The W800 and K3 were made for those nice and easy highways in Japan (not sure about freeways in the US). Is the handle bar the exact same one (OK, in black) as the W800 Street? They seem more comfortable as they are closer to the rider.
I haven't seen the Street version up close, but I'm guessing it's exactly the same handlebar as what's on that one. Yeah, just having that slight curve to it does add a bit more comfort I think.
and I'm glad you enjoyed the video : )
I've really been in love with the W800/K3 since they came out. I'd probably consider the black on black on black 2017 edition the most beautiful but the lack of ABS and other small things is painful. Damn Kawasaki has made me basically want to customise a K3.
Only painful part is the uh.. creative... price they have in my country.
Oh jeez. How much do they go for in your country?
@@jeffinjapan2549 Take the Japanese price and throw 35% on top for fun :)
@@Fallen608 Oh no! That's truly awful
Yes triumphs look good. Their strongest point. But the vertical twin models leave a lot to be desired. They don't handle, don't brake properly (until abs came in), are uncomfortable, are worryingly unstable over 60mph. Cramped and have low ground clearance.
I was a little disappointed... I was hoping Kawasaki would announce that they had made the bike heavier, more expensive, added more cc's, and still managed to reduce the horsepower.
Oh wait, they already did.
(Looking for a Craigslist W650)
You need to wear gloves mate you come of you will strip the skin of your mitts
Yeah, I know it I just really enjoy driving without them. I can feel the clutch and break levers a lot better
@@jeffinjapan2549 You know what else is enjoyable?
The ability to wipe your own arse, it has a power you miss when it's gone.
Seriously mate, gloves are essential, first thing you do is put hands out, and gravel and tarmac shreds them like pulled pork.
Zero is an embarrassment. If they ever become the future of bikes ill hang up my helmet for good. Fuck that shit.
No royal enfield at the show
They had only one bike from Royal Enfield, but I wasn't able to get a good shot of it, unfortunately. Those are some beautiful bikes, too
That’s a gorgeous bike. If only Kawasaki in Australia would bring in more than the street variant 😢
That's a real shame. Kawasaki's missing an opportunity by not exporting this version to you guys
@@jeffinjapan2549 true. I lived in Singapore and I would hazard a guess they would being in one unit if it meant a sale. Australia tho is a very lazy country.
