Just sitting on my couch watching TV and out of the corner of my eye, say a large, what I thought was a huge spider was actually a centipede. Took my sprayer and gave it a squirt, it turned saw it wasn't a spider, and sat back down. Thought about going to the bathroom to see if I need clean underwear. LOL

This is the most attractive enclosure you have made. It is a work of art!!! So glad you captured your spider without difficulty. I personally think it is your ability to remain calm that leads to such a successful capture!
Perhaps Chris slipped a couple of crickets to Miss Fallax to demonstrate his wonderful catch tubes! And don't worry about senior moments, we all get them!
Btw those catch tubes have a hole in each cap to enable you to poke the brush through to make the spider move. It saves you having to take both ends off. You only need to take one end off and poking the brush through the hole in opposite end, saves the spider escaping if it runs the other way 👍
That's even better! They really do look like they'd be super useful. With some cricket tubs, they don't fit perfectly into corners, and you know for a fact, if you give them a single millimeter gap they're gonna try their hardest (and probably succeed) to squeeze through!🤣
Another impromptu Beastie Room adventure! But... combining your experience with the new catch tube cut it short (thank goodness!). The L. fallax has a modern, sophisticated look, with her long, thin black legs and golden carapace. All success in your efforts to breed her.
Those catch tubes look good, I think a little hole in each of the end caps would be good. Just so you can poke the paint brush through the hole and not have to take both ends off

Oh Camera Lady, I feel your frustration! I would go absolutely mad with those reflections too! For Dave: I noticed that the new catch tubes have holes on the caps. I'm wondering if the holes are there to allow you to use a paintbrush to coax the spider out? Just a thought. She's a beautiful spider for sure! Have a great day!

For everyone in Australia. Go to coles and buy the picnic knives and forks. There in a tube. Fantastic for catching your tarantulas etc. been using one for the last couple of years. Great for the small tanks. I looked everywhere for a tube like the ones Chris sent you Dave. But that was the closest thing I could get. 🙂

Although I’m not too fond of the WEB spiders, this girl is very pretty. With her golden carapace and tiger striped butt. They are too spindly and too fast and their spinnerets are too big 😂😂 She’s quite the daredevil though, throwing herself out onto the floor. That catch tube came in very handy indeed. I have one, but I got mine from The Spider Shop, one of the square tubes.
