TI is pretty expensive. Ok for a Lucratif trader. Can afford it. But for a beginner that doesn't make much money or doesn't know where he's going with that, it's a different story.

To me, that high a day momentum scanner tells me the stocks that you should have bet on - not necessarily the ones to bet on. Am I missing something?

For free scanners, you can consider Thinkorswim from TD Ameritrade, which is a robust platform where you can set up scanners and set parameters to search the market for stocks that meet your criteria. There is also a web option called FinViz www.finviz.com/screener.ashx which allows you to screen out stocks to only the ones that meet your search criteria.

@@DaytradeWarrior I have joined, and I have been using Trade Ideas. Knowing the scans leading to the setups is just as critical (if not more) to hitting those trade buttons.
Trade-Ideas is only available for Windows OS. On Mac OS, what's recommended, ThinkOrSwim, Webull, or something else for scanning?

tried finding gappers yesterday , today can't find a single stock fit for day trade. Finding stock to day trade is such a challenge. Is it just me or anyone else having the same issue.

aha, ok, do you know how many stocks you scan at a time? is it maybe 20-30? I'm currently trying to make a stock scanner, but, I'm just not sure if I should limit to to the biggest gappers, etc, or just let it run on "all" of the stocks on the market, I think nasdaq and nyse together is like 6000 though, that seems kinda overkill -_-

Do you have the instructions for using the TOS charts and scanners instead of the Trade Ideas to get the same results? The TOS scanning seems to be very comprehensive but I am not sure what you have specified in the TI scanners?
I have not used their scanners personally, and from what I've heard the scanners do work, though the results do vary frequently.
Just got TI a few days ago, do you have an updated layout and settings file to share that I can download and use?

How is relative volume calculated exactly ? Like it counts the volume of a specific timeframe, let’s say volume from 9:30 to 9:45 of today and compares it to the volume in that same time frame the stock has traded for the last 50 days ?

Is there a way to calculate float as I don't have the funds to invest in screeners right now?

There isn't a way to calculate it, you have to see it listed under the company profile. TC2000, Trade-Ideas, Ameritrade, etc, all offer it.
I have been looking at Trade-Ideas. Is it possible to use the delayed quotes because we are scanning from overnight activity?

I like to look at 3 to 5 stocks to day trade. I study those stocks and know about how they move. I like to buy 10000 to 5000 shares and I like to make around .01 to .05 cent a share. hows that sound
what do you consider for entry & exits?
Bilal M I make my decisions on an upswing. The stocks have to be on an upward trend. And it's all about price compared to valuation. Right now during the holidays volume has been down your best bet is to swing trade. By the stock one day hold it at least one day and sell it the next.
wouldn't you read the news of LPTH before trading? I am assuming there were some great news which cause it to spike so much.
+Smart Investor from what i understood he recognizes patterns and trades that way, but he just explained that he looks for "hot" stocks pre market

You r wrong.
HMNY always break out in a very low volume and drop on high.
What he want is easy fill. You are right. One share of buy can cause a breakout.
What wouldn’t. You want a stock with high volume. Good luck getting out when you need too
