  • Hi! I live in Russia, Siberia and Novosibirsk. In this video, I will show you the Central square of our city - Lenin square. I walked a few kilometers on foot. Novosibirsk is the unofficial capital of Siberia. We don't have much snow this November. If you want to see other streets, write about it in the comments. I will definitely make a new video.
If you want to support the development of my channel, you can buy me coffee (link below):

I would like to ask you if people in Russia still think that Lenin was the greatest Russian of all times and in every Russian city the main street or square should bear his name and huge monuments have to be dedicated to him ?
Thank you for the walk, it gives some idea of how the city centre of Novosibirsk looks like.

Thank you for comment and questions. When the USSR disappeared, many young people stopped thinking that Lenin was a great man. But the older generation of people still remain in their opinion. We do not destroy these monuments, because this is our history. Although, some streets and cities are renamed. But not all of them.

I see a lot of signs in English. Do many Russians speak English?

No! Most people don't speak English. The fashion for English names and signs began in the 90s. This is how brands want to appear cooler than they really are. 😆

@@sir_russia I understand. It seemed kind of odd to see so much English signs. Your English is pretty good. I have no problem understanding what you're saying

@@clee5800 I'll tell you a little secret. Before I write something in English, I first build a phrase myself, and then check it on an online translator. It helps me to learn how to make sentences correctly. I can read in English and understand everything I read 99 percent. But I haven't learned how to create the right sentences on my own yet. I'm confusing tenses, different forms of the verbs "to be", etc. I can't spontaneously say everything I want. I still have a lot to learn.

@@sir_russia It might help to watch English speaking movies and shows to get a better amount of phrases and sentences. I would advise you to maybe stay away from learning from English citizens and how they pronunciat their own language. Most of the time I can't understand certain things they're saying. This is a problem many here in America find. They seem to be a bit lazy.
It's like anything else, the more you learn, the easier it becomes.

@@clee5800 Oh, yes! I watch a lot of movies in English. And to understand what they are talking about, English subtitles help me. I know one Internet site where there are a lot of movies in English with English subtitles. I bought an annual subscription.
