- Designated Area Migration Agreements known as DAMA's are a great and almost secure pathway to permanent residency.
Businesses can generally only sponsor migrants that meet strict eligibility criteria. The DAMA relaxes these criteria for attributes such as English languages skills, age and minimum income requirements.
Occupations in high demand such as security officers, truck drivers, fruit pickers and primary school teachers (which are usually not eligible for sponsorships in metropolitan areas) are among 129 on the DAMA list that offers concessions.
The aim of this reform is to address the chronic labour and skills shortages across regional NSW and because of this need, the process to get sponsored or being able to sponsor is quicker and prioritised.
It is really best placed for those visa holders who are onshore already holding visas that give them permission to work anywhere such as Working Holiday visas or are finding hard to get sponsored in metropolitan areas. For offshore potential applicants, it would be difficult to secure a sponsor but not impossible.

I took 5 years to complete my BBA (which was originally a 4 years course) in English medium. I didn’t attened 3 semesters in bewteen the course. In my transcript university authority mentioned the time when I started and when I finished my study. But It also mentioned that that BBA is 4-years course.

Hi, first of all we wish you best of luck for your migration journey :) finding a sponsor in a DAMA region can be easy or complex depending on each individual profile, skills, occupations, demands and more. Hi, thanks for your comment. You should first search for a job/employer in the occupation you're looking to be sponsored in. Also check with each DAMA if your occupation is listed and which are the requirements. Does the DAMA visa require work experience? For exemple could I apply for it right after my graduation in an Australian course? I'm studying a trade in regional Australia.
Work experience is always needed, the amount of years depends on your occupation and skill level, your qualification and on the DAMA you are apply from. For example, the NSW Dama:
Where the relevant AQF qualification was obtained in Australia, only one (1) year of relevant work experience (38 hours per week) is required for the TSS visa program; or
Only two (2) years of relevant full-time work experience (38 hours per week) is required for the SESR visa program.

@@jayson4602 a valid alternative to gain the experience is using the 407 training visa, which can be applied for directly after your studies. If you are over 45, you have a chance to be sponsored under a Visa 482 in a DAMA region, which allows you to apply for permanent residency until you are 55 years old.
