    J. From the USA, not familiar with reel mowers but with anything motor and hydraulics, quality fluids and filters will be the lifeblood of any machine. I strongly suggest you do a deep dive in these areas, they can really save your bacon on durability and dependability!

    It's definitely a treasure. I'm sure it won't take too much to get this on the grass and cutting to perfeftion.

    Such great machines these fairway mowers. They are a pleasure to work on :)
    p.s the leak detection doesnt work on our mowers; had a big hydraulic leak once;
    and dont let the knives air dry => they will rust a bit

    Hmmm, who does a brilliant job grinding reels. Love the collection of mowers you're working on. Happy you are keeping up the great content and variety on your channel.

      Yeah, I’m pretty excited to get it sorted out and onto the lawn. Injectors have been replaced but that hasn’t sorted the issue unfortunately.

      Yeah they are really nice machines and they handle great. You can easily mow a whole day without getting tired :)

    Never wash the mower engine when hot, you will warp the head (top part of engine) causing the oil to mix with coolant $$ to repair. Also cover any electrical with plastic bag.
    When dry completely turn the engine on and let it get hot, then let it cool down in the sun before storing away, this is to make sure that next you go to start it starts first go.
    A little smoke when starting the engine is OK.

    Maybe do a leak down test on the engine first, if that tests ok it may need fuel system work. Pump/injector service 👍.
    Looked like diesel smoke on start up.

      Thank you for the tips! I’ve ordered a new set of Injectors so will replace those anyways. I’m taking notes to give to the mechanic 👨‍🔧

    I have a Toro Reelmaster 5610. The problem with it is that it raises the cutting decks sometimes and sometimes it won't lower. And sometimes it is completely dead on the lever. Does anyone know what I should be looking for?

    Do you know how high grass it can cut?

    • @JODO027
      @JODO027 4 месяца назад

      You use it for the fairway height :)

      @@JODO027 Yeah. I know. But can it cut higher grass than on fairways?

      I think so

    Oh man, I thought I was going to have to unsubscribe when I saw you knee your dog away. But then totally redeemed it in the next frame, lol.
    That's a big bit of kit. From the emense amount of footage I saw of it running (jokes), I would say it looks more like a valve stem seal issue than worn rings. It's a subtle difference in symtoms but the big puff of smoke on start up is more indicative of valve stem seals leaking into the chamber (and continuing to after shut down). Than oil being burnt past the rings. Harder to see on a diesels due to the lack of vacuum. Ask your brother, but if you scope the bores. If they look ok, you can often even replace valve seals without head removal if you wanted to save money and significantly extend the engine life before rebuilding.

      Haha don’t worry, he is a very loved doggo. He’s just got no concept of his size or personal space and that was about the millionth time he’d come over to nudge me 😂 I’m sure Benji will be making many more cameos in videos to come.
      You’re the second person to mention valve stem seals. I’m lucky that my cousin has a fair bit of experience on these motors so I’m sure we’ll get to the bottom of it when he visits 🤞🏻 Thanks for the tips though - gives us something to check that’s for sure!
