Thanks for telling about the repair on the sander and for this video. I'm a retired bricklayer who is interested in machine trades as a hobby. Keep up the videos and I'll keep watching and learning, Greg.

Charles Compton I'm glad I remembered that part. I couldn't remember who asked about it. I've got lots going on and some times get side tracked due to wanting to keep everyone informed. If ever you have any questions please feel free to email me at eagledustoff37@gmail.com

Zlooks like there's a crack at the 3 o'clock position of the bore. Look a 23:04 where the red hot metal stops on the right side of the hole.

Nice. Try aluminum bronze on a/c. I just did this a while back on cast fenials on my gate build. Jody has a vid on aluminum bronze as well. I have a vid on it as well.

TJS Welding and Fabrication I thought about using Aluminum Bronze but I have 40 pounds of Silicon Bronze and only 2 pounds of Aluminum Bronze. So I went with Silicone Bronze.

Hey James I don’t know if it’s was just the way it looked
but it looks like there was another crack on the right side of the hole where
you were brazing at look at about 21:56

Tobias Talley well I must say great catch!!!! After it finished cooling I took a look at where you spotted it and bam! I'm going to fix that one as well. I knew this repair was going to be a can of worms but didn't know how wormy it was. More suprises in the next video for you and a special shout out! Thanks again for the help in spotting what I missed.

Not a problem sir I enjoy the videos and didn’t know if you
saw it or not. I would hate to see it come back later add cause you any
      headaches on the reassembly

The crack was very easy to see on camera when that side was red hot because the heat stopped right at the 3 o’clock position.
I was going to mention it but also thought it was possibly a parting line in the original sand mold.
It is easy to see why it’s so weak when you see how off centered the casting is to the machined hole for the shaft.
