It is easier for students to remember to add the arithmetic mean of 30 and 90 or 40 and 70 and put them before "the unit's place" than to remember formula P + (S / 2) or P + (S - 1) / 2.
if we have the arithmetic mean with three digits ---->170 (125 x 95 ---> 120 + 90 = 210
