  • The 4-4 (Big Ten) Spartans come from behind in a season saving win against the #7 ranked 8-0 (Big Ten) Ohio State Buckeyes at Jenison Fieldhouse. An injured Magic Johnson led the Spartans to victory in overtime. This win was the start of a 10 game winning streak for the Spartans, which resulted in a share of the Big Ten Championship. Thank you Andy! Whoever you are, this is a great gift! Wonderful memories, and if you have more from that season, or even the season before, please post them. Someone had the Kentucky game on RUclips from the tournament the year before but it was removed. I'd even like to see THAT! I'm sure that there must be some hideous rule that states that you can't watch those games. SOMEONE has the tapes. I have the Notre Dame tournament game on an old VHS that is terrible quality. There must be a good reason that we aren't allowed to watch them on good quality, huh? Thank you again~

The 1979 and 1980 Ohio State teams had enough talent to win a championship but kept coming up short. The 1980 team's loss to UCLA in the NCAA's was inexplicable. Larry Brown just out coached Eldon Miller. The Buckeyes were more talented.
