- In this video, I unboxed a UPO1204 DSO, a 200 MHz 4 channel oscilloscope from UNI-T. This is the top of the line of the new UPO1000 series digital oscilloscope from UNI-T. Stay tuned for the upcoming more in-depth review and teardown videos! Product link: uni-trendus.co...
Please turn off "Stable Volume" in the video playback setting (the first menu item after clicking the gear icon) as for some reason, this new RUclips playback feature made the video much noisier than usual.
This brief introduction and overview, prior to a full teardown, is a very good idea. I personally don't mind (and even enjoy) long, detailed, in-depth reviews, but an overview and first look really is a nice way to tee up that more-in-depth video; it's a great adjunct.
I like the UNI-T line, the quality is actually very good. If you get time to do another video on this scope Kerry, it would be great to see the Math capabilities on it. Take care!
I will do a more in-depth review of this scope later in the week. There are a lot of cool features. I will cover the Math functions.
Excellent overview. Impressively intuitive controls.. Can't wait for the rest. Thanks.
Since RIGOL introduced affordable 12-bit scopes for beginners, 8-bit ones are now just a curiosity.
Don't be so soft.
At first glance at the thumbnail for this video, I thought it was a Keysight 2000 series scope.
I always enjoy watching and listening to the methodical approach you take when reviewing new instruments that come in. Everything is explained in a relaxing manner, much like that of a golf tournament announcer. Keep up the great work, and thank you!
For easier unpacking, you can borrow the big knife from Dave
Hello! Can I ask you something? Give this oscilloscope a rectangular (meander) signal with a frequency of 1 MHz, 2 MHz, 3 MHz, 4 MHz, 5 MHz, 6 MHz, 7 MHz, 8 MHz, 9 MHz and 10 MHz. And please take a video. It is very interesting to see how accurately this oscilloscope shows a square signal at high frequencies. Tip: use the X10 probe for this measurement. Do not use a long earth wire!!! The signal will be distorted from it. Ideally, send a signal directly from an external generator.
How many A/D converters are inside? E.g. the Siglent 1104/1204X-E has two converters; one for ch. 1 and 3, the other for ch. 2 and 4. The more economical "U" version have only one A/D shared by the 4 channels.
Please review some low-end stuff as well like UTD series.
As a person just trying to pick up their first scope. I think it's ridiculous to find out that a probe is half the price of the unit. Buying all four probes would be more than the cost of the unit. Then they have a company that doubles the price by giving you a software update that says much as the unit itself is ridiculous.
The probes from fleabay are OK for the home lab. I have an avalanche diode rise time tester and the 200MHz probes from the flea are good to 240.
I don't know why no one, not even Uni-T on the scope's box or documentation, mentioned that the scope was ETL certified. Safety certification, while no panacea, is important.
Many of these scopes come with a set of probes. Also getting a scope these days is so easy. There are so many good options out there. Back in the day scopes used to cost much more and many of us started on 2nd hand scopes.
The probes are included. You get one per channel, matched to the speed of the scope. They are for sale if you need to replace them. The software is not an update on the scope shown. It's to upgrade the bandwidth from 100MHz to 200MHz.
I actually prefer the "multiplexed" controls. It fits my thought process better for whatever reason. Select the channel then modify that channel using the same muscle memory.
Is this model of oscilloscope contains component tester built-in??
Hello. How is the fan noise for this unit? Is it very audible?
Best review on this unit. This n your second video 😅.
